12th Gryffindor Note (Action first / later written)

((OOC: PLEASE READ. The first action part is for Draco, Raine, and Harry in that order. After she gets home and talks to Harry, housemates are free to reply and then anyone who's heard she's back and wants to come visit her is free to reply. But please wait for those three first. Thanks! Have at now, but keep in mind that she is home so all action posts are at home!))

[It's midday in the woods. Calm, quiet. And then... CRUNCH SPLASH. Guess who just got literally dumped into the lake on this cold winter day? And hard enough to break what little ice is still left. Yep. Hermione's back. And she looks like she's been through hell. Coughing, sputtering. She's going to try to climb up onto the bank, because seriously Malnosso? A sprained ankle, a partially bleeding neck, and a bunch of scratches and bruises and you couldn't dump her somewhere dry?

So... the lake just seems to not like people lately.]

[Probably an hour later, writing will appear from her, but her hand is still shaky. If anyone remembers when she first arrived, this handwriting is comparable to that.]

I'd just like to inform everyone that I'm back. It's been long enough that I should have missed an experiment... I hope everyone else is well.

[She flinches a little, but raises a hand to touch the scar that formed. At least it's not as bad as it was the first time.]

...Thank you. [But she's not looking at him right now. Still, at least she's sitting up right now.]

...I didn't think it'd be like this.

[Give it a few and there are some Hot-Air charms being cast as well to dry her off. Draco's being generous...obviously something's up.] So does that mean Bellatrix...?

[Omg warmth. She's going to appear to lean into the heat.] I don't... ["think she's here." Except she can barely tell what was memory and what was real.]

[This is ridiculous...keeping up the warming/drying charms then] You need to get home. Is there anyone you can think of to come get you or...?

[That makes her think for a bit as she wraps her arms around herself. Who? Harry, of course... but she's a bit shaken... not quite thinking perfectly straight.]

...Raine, the schoolteacher.. She might be able to help...

[She probably won't notice, but he definitely looks pretty grateful when she suggests that.] How should I get a hold of her?

[Lucky, lucky you, Draco. She completely misses it.] Messenger Patronus. She knows what it is and it'd give you good practice.

[She's starting to calm down if she's talking about learning already.]

[Oh, he's aware. He gives her a slightly awkward smile that's supposed to be reassuring but probably is more on the nervous side.] Somehow I shouldn't be surprised...I summon Padfoot first and then the message, or I say the message first and then summon him? [It's not a good sign when Draco's not thinking clearly either.]

[She's going to give him a slightly pointed look, but hello she loves coaching people anyway.] Focus on the message you want Padfoot to say as you cast the Charm.

[Pause...] I know you can do it.

[He hesitates slightly, but with that last phrase, he nods. Promptly ignoring that look though, Draco moves his wand instead and focuses for a few moments, giving himself enough time to really focus on what he's doing before he says the charm and Padfoot appears in front of him, looking at him expectantly] Go ahead, you. Go find Raine, tell her we need her. [Padfoot's going to yip at Draco before tearing off through the forest]

...can you walk at all?

[She watches, giving a tight smile when Padfoot runs off. It looked good to her. Fortunately. His question gets an emphatic head shake.]

No... my ankle...

[Padfoot's going to run as fast as he can.] I told Raine to meet us at the edge of the forest...she can take you home from there, but I don't know how we're going to get you there now...how badly is it hurt?

[She bites her lip slightly and glances up at him.] Can you help me? I think it's just sprained. [But that's bad enough that she can't put weight on it right now.] I can hop on the other foot...

Sure about that? That might be best, I'm not sure how to really fix a sprain. So what does that make me, a human crutch?

If you don't mind... [She hates asking for help.]

...Something like that. [It gets a smile from her anyway.] ...Can you help me up? [Merlin she hates this.]

...bloody Malnosso. [He pauses again, unsure how how to really help her up but extending a hand anyway] Just don't put a lot of weight on that foot. I'm not going to be the one to blame if you hurt yourself further.

[that gets a slight chuckle from her as she extends her hurt leg and gets the good one under her so she can use his arm as leverage to get up. It takes a little bit of hopping, but she'll manage it.] ...Ouch... [Mostly without pain.] All right... where's the edge from here? [Sorry, Draco. You're getting a Hermione arm around your waist so she can keep herself upright. Hi awkwardness.]

[...hey Hermione, good to see you too. Draco's just going to blink at her for a moment before rearranging his arm to keep a good balance for her.] Straight ahead, if I recall. I just hope Padfoot actually got to his destination like he was supposed to.

[...Well this feels awkward... Hop hop hop.] I'm sure he did. We'll know soon enough anyway. [She cringes a bit. Owwww.]

They don't come back, right? [They'll walk forward for a bit, though he's definitely keeping an eye on her.]

No they don't. [It's a bit of awkward hopping on her part since she really doesn't want to put any weight on that foot.] I'm not sure if you can force one to return. It might be possible, but it would take a lot more concentration to give a third command like that.

I'm not sure I want to push my luck, considering how well Padfoot behaves in the first place. [Walking...walking...] Are you sure you're okay to walk?

[Slight noise of laughter or something.] It's all right. I've gone through this before, remember? And at least this time I'm conscious. [Unlike last time.] Besides that it's - [cringe.] -better than that curse Dolohov hit me with in the Department of Mysteries.

I'm not seeing how any of this has a bright side to it...or how you can be optimistic about it.

...When you've been running around the countryside all year with absolutely no contact with anyone but two others and random other people who you either fight or wipe the memories of, and come out of each encounter barely hanging onto your lives... you start to think you're lucky if you don't have to fear for your life, or if you can't recall exactly how you got each cut.
