It's a power thing. One wizard's strength or speed over another's. Even something as simple as a Disarming Charm might be enough to win a wand's allegiance.

[ yeaaaah, she hadn't really wanted to tell him that. ] Harry took it from you at the Manor after you stopped fighting us. Your delightful aunt got mine when the Snatchers caught us. I actually ended up with hers, so make that number five. And Harry's... [ this is always a part of great guilt for her since she's pretty sure she was responsible for that one. ] I cast a curse in Godric's Hollow. It rebounded and must've hit Harry's wand. When we got out, it was in pieces.

[Such the ultimate lineface. LINE. FACE.] I'm going to kill him. I'm honestly going to kill him. [Though he makes a face at the mention of Bellatrix.] Of course she did. You're a Mudblood to her, she doesn't think you deserve it. As for Potter's...if you broke is, that's why he took mine, isn't it.

[However there's a sudden pause. And a sudden look. It's starting to click in his mind and he's thinking about what Hermione just said.

[Still just a face.] Still my wand. [Grumbling. Stupid Potter.] ...makes enough sense.

[He's still just giving her that look though as he connects the dots further.] ...the night at the Astronomy tower. [He knows she knows about that.] I disarmed Dumbledore. That was the first thing I did when I got up there.

Perhaps we give it back in the future. [ she shrugs. who really knows?

[ she gives him a look momentarily before returning to her original train of thought. ]

That was Dumbledore's wand. He had the Elder Wand, won it from Grindelwald. And that's why Harry chose the Horcruxes over going to get the wand from Dumbledore's tomb. He knew. He must've known someone else was the master... I thought it was Snape.

[ she trails off at that, her mind whirring around everything that she knew. harry's the master in her time, since he overpowered draco at the manor, but draco's from a time where he's the master of the wand. snape never was... which means even if voldemort beat them to the wand, harry was still the master. the wand wouldn't work perfectly for voldemort... ]

That means you're the master of the Elder Wand in your time. The most powerful wand in existence... But you're in so much danger... Voldemort can never find out. [ as far as she knows, he never does, because draco's alive when they go to the manor... but she needs to make sure draco understands the importance of this. ]

[Give him a few moments of just gawking. Followed by suddenly sinking down on the bed next to her and just. Staring. Currently staring at his wand, rather, but he appears to have gone into shock.]

I'm the master of the Elder Wand. [Still just staring at his wand, almost like he's expecting the whole thing to explode in his hand. What was that you said about Voldemort, Hermione? He's not quite listening.] I'm the master.

[ gdit, she doesn't want more bloodshed, especially not draco's! ]

[Let him be pleased just a little longer okay? Okay. However he seems to register what she says that time and focuses on her again.]

...but it sounds like he hasn't found out, and he's not here...I'm not worried.

I know, but... just promise me you'll be careful. [ look, draco, she's practically begging. ]

I'm not going to go around announcing I'm the master, if that's what you mean. Besides, when have you ever known me to be truly reckless?

Never. [ but she still looks relieved anyway. ] I just don't want anything to happen. I've seen too many people die because they weren't quite careful enough. It's frightening... what we have to go back to. I don't want that for you here.

[The whole situation's rather heavy, and in a way, it was good Hermione was back to ground him again. He was starting to get a little too comfortable here.] I appreciate the concern, but I think I'll manage. It's...not something to concern ourselves with until Riddle reappears. Or worse.

I know but we should limit the number of people we tell anyway. It'd be just like the Malnosso to bring him back.

[Okay, that wipes the smirk off his face.] ...could've. But they didn't. There's a reason for that, you know. I'm going to go with the fact that they're not completely mental.

I'm just grateful. It's one of the only things I'm grateful for at all here. [ she twirls her wand again and then- ]
