[Over the last few days, Draco has been a very, very busy man. Especially yesterday, seeing how he was busy playing babysitter for three certain children. Hopefully nobody minds, but he might have brought one of them home. It's not like he was just going to leave Ginia to fend for herself, after all.
He had done his best to keep her out of the way though, allowing her to a place to sleep but not expecting her to stay put beyond that. On the morning of the 18th he found she and her dog were already gone, and thus he went outside again on his own mission.
He was determined to find a few missing items, and neither of which belonged to him. After a long day of searching, he was really about to give up on ever finding anything. With a mighty kick to one of the sides of the buildings though, a large pile of snow came tumbling down. He yelped, dodging out of the way before realizing there was something sticking straight out of the snow...
...something that belonged to a certain witch he knew, in fact.
Snatching the wand, he quickly Apparated back to House 26, bursting through the front door and hoping the girl would be home.]
[ she's been reading through her old notebook for the last few days, updating a new one, wondering what else she should say and keep track of. when she hears the door open, she doesn't pay much attention to it until she hears her name. then she sets the books down on the bed and opens the door to her new room. ]
[He's really, really trying to hide that gleeful look but it's pretty dang hard. So instead of answering verbally, he's just going to reach into his coat and pull out her wand.] Found this in the snow today. Think anybody would want it?
[ she takes it with a relieved smile and quickly looks it over for scratches or breaks. it's not that she doesn't trust draco to be careful with it, more that she doesn't trust the malnosso not to have chipped it or something. ]
You didn't win its allegiance.
[ and once she's satisfied with its condition, she quickly waves it at draco and suddenly warmth! and the snow he tracked in is gone 8| ] That feels so much better.
No, that's what I meant. [Don't mind him, he's busy grabbing his own wand and examining it.] ...Granger let me ask you something. How many of us lose our original wands during this war? [He only asks because of something Harry hinted at.]
[The walk from the apartment back to the house Draco and Hermione resided in was nothing. It was a nice stroll across the village and gave her time to mull over the latest week. Sure, she may have been a loud-mouthed bite-sized little thing, but it'd been a nice week. Very relaxing. May being a child never happen again.
She arrives at the house in the afternoon and gives a light knock on the door, patiently waiting for someone to answer.]
It was no problem. [ honestly, in light of everything else, she'd almost forgotten. ] I'm glad they were helpful. Would you like to come in or do you have other things to do?
Not at all. [ hermione smiles and steps back to let ginia in. ] Would you like something warm to drink? [ pause. ] And I did want to show you something, but I haven't had the chance yet. [ by that, she means her notebook. ]
Not at all. [ the door is shut behind her friend as she motions for ginia to follow her into the kitchen. ] Some of my notes about Luceti from my time here before. We talked about some things, but I didn't want to say too much because there are things we can't say over the journals. Or there were when I was here and I wouldn't want to risk it.
[ she sets some water on the stove for tea and turns back to ginia. ] It's here on the table. [ there's not a whole lot yet. clearly she's still working on separate entries. one set of pages displays her notes from last time and another starts more on the malnosso and the drafts. ]
[Ahh, the notes! Ginia nods understandingly, quite valuing the importance of holding some conversations off the journals. Once she's seated, Ginia begins to carefully read through the notes, taking special interest in amount of time needed to learn from the spirits and jotting down her own notes in the back of her notebook.
When she finishes reading, she takes a few minutes to gather her thoughts, skimming over both her notes and Hermione's notes.]
This is all utterly brilliant and quite informative. I applaud your work.
[ the tea is poured into two cups and brought over once it's ready. glancing at her notebook, hermione again sees a mistake she'd been meaning to fix. ]
Thank you. It took a while to compile, but it's all been useful knowledge to have. It can't hurt to know more about our surroundings. [ pause. ] As such, I ought to change something. Our New Feather Cycles seem to come every other month now. When I first arrived last time, it was every month. They have since changed that, though I'm not sure why. Maybe it was to stem the flow of newcomers, allow us to settle in before they disrupt us again.
I was told about the difference in cycles too. Apparently there was a break in the cycle where no one came for several months, then the cycle picked up again every other month. I suppose having some sort of control over arrivals would make sense. Goodness, otherwise we'd be greeting people all the time.
You're right. We were greeting people every day it seemed. I remember that break and thought it was odd, but then it switched to the cycle it's on now and I can't help wondering if that will change someday, too.

[November 18th -> Action]
Yes... unless you meant something else?
