26th Gryffindor Note - voice / action

[Hermione is outside, with blankets to sit in and wrap up in, and has her trademark jar of fire in front of her making heat. It's a nice trick and, like everything else she knows, she's glad she learned it. After a few minutes of sitting, she opens up her journal.]

It's not that I don't like the holiday of Valentine's Day. I just don't see why we can't celebrate love every day if we so choose. [Oh, Merlin, Hermione, just stop now. The trolls are gonna come out of the woodwork.] I mean, if you're going to enjoy being around someone, you might as well enjoy it all the time.

[A little later:]

Ron... are you busy? [...Yeah, there's no filter.]

[ooc: first comment reserved! After that, have at :3 obligatory IC stalking of first comment encouraged]

[What a coincidence, Hermione. A certain redhead was just about to open the journals and figure out where you are, since you're not in your room.]

Just about to look for you, matter of fact. Where're you hiding?

[Voice]

[identity profile] loyalotter.livejournal.com 2011-02-16 03:39 am (UTC)(link)
You were, were you? [She sounds teasingly disbelieving.]

I'm not hiding. I'm outside the house.

[Voice/Action]

[identity profile] sacrificemyself.livejournal.com 2011-02-16 03:47 am (UTC)(link)
Oi, I was! I'll go prove it!

[And you've got a ginger, lumbering out towards that curly-haired girl in the blankets.]

[Action]

[identity profile] loyalotter.livejournal.com 2011-02-16 03:49 am (UTC)(link)
[Oh good, because she might just have a picnic type thing planned. Also, there's a decent-sized spot next to her, where she's leaning against a tree and writing in her notebook.]

Well, that proves it, all right. Good to see you outside the house.

[Action]

[identity profile] sacrificemyself.livejournal.com 2011-02-16 03:57 am (UTC)(link)
[Picnics? As in food? Because that would make Ron a very happy Weasley indeed.]

The way you talk, you'd think I'm some kinda hermit or something.

[He's just gonna plop down besides her now, surprising himself by nonchalantly putting an arm around her shoulders and kissing her forehead.]

I do enjoy it all of the time. [Except when he doesn't, but he's too far in love at the moment to think about those times. But really, how dare you! Or something.]

[Voice]

[identity profile] loyalotter.livejournal.com 2011-02-16 03:40 am (UTC)(link)
Oh of course you do. [Yeah, well... she's feeling teasingly sarcastic right about now... oddly enough.] How was your day yesterday?

[Voice]

[identity profile] cruxofapotter.livejournal.com 2011-02-16 03:54 am (UTC)(link)
[The joys of experiments!] It was brilliant, I'll have you know.

[Voice----->locked!]

[identity profile] loyalotter.livejournal.com 2011-02-16 03:56 am (UTC)(link)
Brilliant? [There are raised eyebrows here.] Did you do something special for it?

[Voice----->locked!]

[identity profile] cruxofapotter.livejournal.com 2011-02-16 04:03 am (UTC)(link)
[He's a little sing-songy at the moment.] Not particularly. I gave him something and we spent the night together.

You're right love is for all the time. But I think it's sort of nice there's an extra day set aside.

[Voice]

[identity profile] loyalotter.livejournal.com 2011-02-16 03:41 am (UTC)(link)
I suppose so. I just think it ought to be celebrated all the time and not just set aside for one day or people might start to think it's something for only one day out of the year.

[identity profile] no-use-running.livejournal.com 2011-02-16 03:42 am (UTC)(link)
People must already know it's not just for one day.

This is sort of personal, but do you have someone, Hermione?

[Voice]

[identity profile] loyalotter.livejournal.com 2011-02-16 03:51 am (UTC)(link)
I would hope they do. My friends ought to anyway.

[pause.]

I hope so, yes. [There's a bit of a blush on her face and it's probably echoed in her voice.]

I think the best thing you can do, is make sure to always make it special for him.

People celebrate love in different ways, Granger. Sometimes I yell a lot less when I'm feeling particularly affectionate. [Oh Hermione. You sound like a hopeless romantic in Draco's book. At least Draco doesn't sound as serious as usual.]

[Voice]

[identity profile] loyalotter.livejournal.com 2011-02-16 03:43 am (UTC)(link)
[Yeah, like you have any room to talk.]

I just think it's silly that some people need a specific holiday for it.
hisdarkmark: (I smirk because I'm right)

[Voice]

[personal profile] hisdarkmark 2011-02-16 06:08 am (UTC)(link)
[Yeah, he can't talk.]

Valentine's Day, as far as I'm concerned, is nothing more than a popularity contest. It's a time to see who has the best significant other and who can receive the best presents. It's like Christmas but with far more cards and flowers and less snow.

[Voice]

[identity profile] loyalotter.livejournal.com 2011-02-16 08:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Which is rubbish, really. Who needs a special holiday to be kind to someone? And it's also rubbish to turn something like this into a popularity contest. Honestly, there are far better ways to spend your time.
hisdarkmark: (I'm officially screwed)

[Voice]

[personal profile] hisdarkmark 2011-02-17 12:10 am (UTC)(link)
Are you saying it's rubbish because you don't usually have a Valentine, Granger?

It's more about the gift giving, really.

And chocolate.

[identity profile] loyalotter.livejournal.com 2011-02-16 08:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Which is rubbish. The actual day was made for far more than that.

[identity profile] 1week-wizard.livejournal.com 2011-02-17 08:30 am (UTC)(link)
... Not fond of chocolate?

[identity profile] loyalotter.livejournal.com 2011-02-17 10:03 pm (UTC)(link)
I am. I just don't think anyone ought to have a day to remind them of love and being kind. They ought to do that normally.

[identity profile] 1week-wizard.livejournal.com 2011-02-17 10:27 pm (UTC)(link)
But they do not give out chocolate, normally.

(no subject)
