12th Gryffindor Note (Action first / later written)

((OOC: PLEASE READ. The first action part is for Draco, Raine, and Harry in that order. After she gets home and talks to Harry, housemates are free to reply and then anyone who's heard she's back and wants to come visit her is free to reply. But please wait for those three first. Thanks! Have at now, but keep in mind that she is home so all action posts are at home!))

[It's midday in the woods. Calm, quiet. And then... CRUNCH SPLASH. Guess who just got literally dumped into the lake on this cold winter day? And hard enough to break what little ice is still left. Yep. Hermione's back. And she looks like she's been through hell. Coughing, sputtering. She's going to try to climb up onto the bank, because seriously Malnosso? A sprained ankle, a partially bleeding neck, and a bunch of scratches and bruises and you couldn't dump her somewhere dry?

So... the lake just seems to not like people lately.]

[Probably an hour later, writing will appear from her, but her hand is still shaky. If anyone remembers when she first arrived, this handwriting is comparable to that.]

I'd just like to inform everyone that I'm back. It's been long enough that I should have missed an experiment... I hope everyone else is well.

[He does... and how many times has he failed now? Baby Harry, first year, second year, third year was random and doesn't count, fourth year, fifth year, sixth year was his lackeys and doesn't count, aaaand the Manor was his lackeys... so five times? She also notices the change in tone.] He's grown stronger since we've been away... [Everything's so weird here and it's starting to hit her again just how weird.] I suppose. Just don't worry too much about what happened. [She smiles at him as he does that.] We'll manage. We have until now.

[Harry's stopped counting. The amount of times he's nearly died is overwhelming. He realizes that he sounded bad when he said that.] Neville's brilliant! The students still at Hogwarts are in good hands, I think. [Luceti is incredibly weird, and Harry feels like his life has been turned on its head even more than ever.] Right. [He's not sure he can promise to do that. He's still so confused. But he does smile back.] Exactly. It's nothing we can't get past.

[Well you know Hermione. She has to keep track of everything.] I think so, too. It's different, seeing him like this, but it's good. [Hermione's been feeling like that since she got here. Now more than eve, though. Well, at least he's sort of listening to her...] We've always got something to get past. [And at least this isn't particularly life-threatening.]

[Of course, and they definitely have a plethora of near-death experiences.] I'm proud of him. He's come such a long way. [Just when everything seems to be alright, something new and strange happens. He'd like to just put it all behind him, but he's doesn't think it's that simple.] That just means we've gotten pretty good at it.

[More than most people get in a lifetime.] He really has. It's hard to believe he was the same boy in first year who tried to stop us from leaving to save the Sorcerer's Stone. [Nothing in Harry's life, or the lives of anyone close to him, is ever simple.] I'm not entirely sure if this is a good thing or not.

[Enough to make one go insane.] Well, at the time, standing up to us took a lot. Still, he's taken the DA idea and really run with it, with Luna and Ginny's help. [Sigh.] I wish she'd been here for that bloody experiment. It probably isn't a good thing, but it's pretty useful nonetheless.

[Surprising that they haven't yet.] It did and he was brave back then. I can only imagine what it's been like at Hogwarts for them this year. [she looks sadly at him.] Maybe she'll turn up soon.

[They are very special kids.] I hope that once we get back, we can help them somehow. [He sighs and looks at the wall.] Is it wrong that I wish she would?

[Special snowflakes. But we love them anyway.] I know we will. We'll do everything possible to bring down V-voldemort. [That took a lot of effort considering what she's just been through.] ...No. It would be a little more stability in your life. [She leans back in her chair.] It isn't so bad here... once you get used to regretting a week out of every month.

[Yes we do.] We have to. [He offers her a small smile, knowing that it's difficult.] I've learned not to mind it. I'd never thought I'd have the chance to live with Sirius again. Despite the faults of this place, it has its good sides.

It does... In some ways it's better than home, but in others it's worse. People talk about which they prefer all the time... [But her silence says she doesn't know anymore.]

I don't think we have room to make a preference. [He doesn't know either. He likes the small sense of stability he has now.]

Probably not. [She sighs and buries her head in her hands for a minute.] This place is like one big headache.

[He sighs and runs a hand through his hair.] You're telling me.

[She gives him a sympathetic look at that.] I'm working to unravel it, but there's just so much to go through. It's like trying to unravel one of Ron's Mum's sweaters while she yells at you for it.

If anyone can do it, you can. Has anyone else been able to help?

[She smiles at that.] A little bit here and there. I ought to update my notebook again and try to see if I missed a special entry while I was gone. Mostly what I have now is what Raine told me on my first day. [It's funny that she learned everything she needed to know about Luceti on her first day here, but that's Hermione for you.]

[He smiles back.] I haven't heard much of anything since then, nothing that might help us get out, anyway. [That's her epic research skills at work.]

I'll keep looking. [You know she'll never quit researching. Even if her mun is feeling the crazy pressure from playing her |D] There has to be something somewhere. [But it's time to push her plate away as she's eaten as much as she can by now.] Thank you for this, Harry. [It was so nice to be greeted by him when she got back.]

You're the best, Hermione. [It's tough having a character who is in the know. I used to have two of them. @_@] They can get us in, right? The other way has to work somehow. [He takes her plate and stands up to get it out of the way.] No problem, Hermione. Just tell me if you need anything else.

[She smiles at that. Ugh, yeah. I need to update her notebook too DX] It must. There has to be a way for us to leave. [Unless it really is a trick of the world itself and then she might just be at a loss... but she's not going to stop looking until she's exhausted every avenue.] I think I ought to rest for a while. I'm glad we got to talk, though.

[Try the timeline/plot posts for info?] I refuse to believe that there isn't. [He wouldn't be surprised if that was the case, though. Still, it's a daunting thought.] I'm glad we did, too. Just let me know if you need anything else, alright?

[that and the Lucetilocked posts.] Me, too. I just wish I could find it soon. [Everything is a daunting task when your title is the "Chosen One" or you're one of his companions.] Of course. [Standing is going to be tough. She cringes slightly as she tries to get up. The ankle's better but it's still sore. She probably shouldn't go to school for a couple of days, but like she'll admit that.]

Me too. [He moves to help her get up. That ankle still concerns him.] You alright to get back to your room?

[She nods.] I'll be fine. [Pride, Harry. She has it. She takes a breath and begins the trek to her room.]
