11th Gryffindor Note - [text/Action]

...Well that was certainly interesting. I hope everyone made it out of the snow and back to their residences safely. I was caught at home, so I'm fine. If any of my housemates are coming home frozen, I'll have my bluebell flames in their jar in the middle of the common room.

I'd also like to hear from everyone I haven't spoken to yet since the blizzard ended. How are you all doing?

[Hermione is going to send a Messenger Patronus to her housemates, no matter where they are. It says, "Are you all right? Please see me. I need to teach you this." Except to Harry. His says, "I need to teach you this and for you to teach me something," but it comes back to her, whining...

[She'll be waiting on the bottom floor.]
psychebubble: (what am i supposed to do with this chikn)

[video; do you mind if Hermione is recognized from being from a movie?]

[personal profile] psychebubble 2010-01-14 02:52 pm (UTC)(link)
... How is that even possible?

[video; go for it XD she'll probably just be like "rriiiiiight..."]

[identity profile] loyalotter.livejournal.com 2010-01-14 03:27 pm (UTC)(link)
It's magic.
psychebubble: (you will have my vibrator.)

[personal profile] psychebubble 2010-01-14 07:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, that again.

[identity profile] loyalotter.livejournal.com 2010-01-20 06:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh don't tell me you don't believe in it in a place like this?
psychebubble: (i said what what in the butt.)

[personal profile] psychebubble 2010-01-20 06:23 pm (UTC)(link)
I'd rather believe that this whole thing is a long hallucination. Anyway, magic shouldn't be possible, and if it is, it'd just be a kind of science that hasn't been discovered yet. There's rules and laws to everything, and that'd include 'magic'.

[identity profile] loyalotter.livejournal.com 2010-01-20 06:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Well of course there are rules about everything, including magic. That's why we have to pay careful attention when we learn how to cast.
psychebubble: (No you're a retard.)

[personal profile] psychebubble 2010-01-20 06:29 pm (UTC)(link)
And that makes it science, not magic. One that completely ignores common sense, and is just a pain in the ass regardless, but...

[identity profile] loyalotter.livejournal.com 2010-01-20 06:30 pm (UTC)(link)
[Brb casting a Patronus.]

Then how does science explain this? [There's a nice silver otter prancing around the fire now, directed by her wand. If you aren't careful, you're || close to a magic lecture.]
psychebubble: (the boss is your mom)

[personal profile] psychebubble 2010-01-20 06:32 pm (UTC)(link)
*The correct answer, of course, is to completely ignore your question!*

Aww, that's cute!

[identity profile] loyalotter.livejournal.com 2010-01-22 06:52 pm (UTC)(link)
[Which she, of course, haaaaates. Still, she'll smile and look very proud at the reaction her Patronus receives.] Thank you.
psychebubble: (how else will we boat to mordor?)

[personal profile] psychebubble 2010-01-22 08:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Make something else! Can you do a dog?

[identity profile] loyalotter.livejournal.com 2010-01-23 06:21 pm (UTC)(link)
A Patronus only takes one shape, that of the animal most closely related to the caster.
psychebubble: (cher just turned back time holy shit)

[personal profile] psychebubble 2010-01-23 11:02 pm (UTC)(link)
... so you've got some indian spirit animal thing going on with an otter?

[identity profile] loyalotter.livejournal.com 2010-01-25 04:44 pm (UTC)(link)
I suppose it's similar, but it's not quite the same.
psychebubble: (Mwehehehehehe.)

[personal profile] psychebubble 2010-02-04 05:38 am (UTC)(link)
Because it's an otter!

[identity profile] loyalotter.livejournal.com 2010-02-05 05:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Is there something wrong with an otter?
psychebubble: (born and raised in south detroit)

[video] holy hell this thread has been going on for ages

[personal profile] psychebubble 2010-02-05 05:30 pm (UTC)(link)
So do you fish?

[video] ^^; I'm a slow tagger sometimes

[identity profile] loyalotter.livejournal.com 2010-02-05 05:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Not particularly unless I'm traveling and have to.
psychebubble: (working hard to get my fill)

[video] It's cool, it's just funny XD

[personal profile] psychebubble 2010-02-05 05:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Swim, then?

[video] |D;b

[identity profile] loyalotter.livejournal.com 2010-02-05 05:38 pm (UTC)(link)
No. There's a lot more to a Patronus than just what it eats and whether it swims or not.
psychebubble: (soubi is a rapist)

[personal profile] psychebubble 2010-02-05 05:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Hm... You don't seem really otter-like at all.

[video] sdfhjdafsj not quite the tl;dr I'd hoped for BUT STILL DX I APOLOGISE

[identity profile] loyalotter.livejournal.com 2010-02-05 06:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Then let me explain it for you. [During this whole speech, she doesn't stop, takes on an air of knowing more than you, and has that maddeningly superior expression on her face.]

Otters are part of the mammal family Mustelidae, which also includes weasels, polecats, and badgers. Badgers are the mascot of Hufflepuff, the house at my school most commonly associated with hard work and loyalty. Otters are extremely active and playful. Some otters are even bred to chase fish into nets, showing that they are quite intelligent and easily trained. They are experts at what they do, which for them is swimming and diving. For me, it's schoolwork, research, and magic. Their feeding patterns are even similar to mine.

They do spend a lot of time grooming, though I don't unless I need to keep up appearances or if it would help keep me alive, as it does the otters.

Sea otters are one of the rare animals to actually use tools and they're the only ones that can lift and turn over boulders. Often, they'll wrap themselves in kelp to keep from drifting out to sea. And they're even capable of delayed implantation in case the females don't feel safe to have their pup right away.

They're intelligent, resourceful, and have a huge impact on marine ecosystems. Otters are quite fascinating and unique among animals species.
psychebubble: (Jiiiii)

[video] IT IS COOL. XD Interesting read, even.

[personal profile] psychebubble 2010-02-05 07:18 pm (UTC)(link)
... That was a really, really wordy way to say that you just know too much about them.
