...Well that was certainly interesting. I hope everyone made it out of the snow and back to their residences safely. I was caught at home, so I'm fine. If any of my housemates are coming home frozen, I'll have my bluebell flames in their jar in the middle of the common room.

I'd also like to hear from everyone I haven't spoken to yet since the blizzard ended. How are you all doing?

[Hermione is going to send a Messenger Patronus to her housemates, no matter where they are. It says, "Are you all right? Please see me. I need to teach you this." Except to Harry. His says, "I need to teach you this and for you to teach me something," but it comes back to her, whining...

Yeah, and it's a terribly designed game. Every position other than the Seeker is completely useless.

I don't think so. Harry will disagree with you.

That's because he is the Seeker. But... well, you're the one who liked logic, right? Imagine, in completely neutral conditions, two teams of equal skill. The game can't end until the Snitch gets snatched, but when it is, whoever's team gets the snitch gets enough points to win, easy.

Then imagine two teams who aren't that close in skill. The Seeker can still make up for fifteen goals. But if the other team can get fifteen goals ahead of the first team, Snitch or no Snitch, the second team wouldn't have a prayer anyway.

Yes but how many times does that actually happen? How many people are actually that good or that bad? And you're forgetting that each player is different from the next. No two players have exactly the same strengths and weaknesses, no matter what position they play. And players have off days, too.

Seekers get fouled all the time by the other team, especially the Beaters. If you don't have good Beaters, the opposing team can do whatever they want. It's a sport for fun and entertainment. [She can't believe she's actually saying this.]

I thought you were the one that didn't like sports.

Anyway, other than that World Cup, name one game where the winning team was not the one that got the Snitch.

And, for the proof, weren't you there when the twins were making the bet on the victor? The guy they made the bet with thought it was totally absurd.

Because Viktor is one person and the best Seeker on the major teams.

No matter how good he is, the bet was specifically that 'one team would win, and the other team gets the Snitch', and that was what the guy said was so absurd.

But they were rooting for Viktor.... and how do you know all of this?

What, am I not allowed to have had tickets to the World Cup too?

How would you have known about the bet the twins made if you haven't talked to them? You weren't there when they made it.

Did you know Omniculars... or whatever they were called, can translate lip movement and tell you what people are saying? Especially if you're not too far away.

Yes, but that doesn't mean you were around to have seen it. Though I suppose you could have done... it happened over by the tents.

If you were five years old, there's no way you could have lipread anything, let alone something through the Omnioculars, you wouldn't have been able to see the Dark Mark, let alone identify it, and why your parents would have allowed you to even come I don't know. They also wouldn't have told you what it was if you're really so far behind everyone else.
