8th Gryffindor note [voice] / [action]
It seems as though people come and go a lot here. I noticed it a while back, but you don't think the people doing the going will be those you're close to or know well until... they disappear, too. It's too much to hope that things will remain relatively constant, isn't it?
Ron's gone... isn't he?
[Hermione's going to be sitting out in the middle of the ground with a bunch of mats and blankets. She's got a small fire going on a pile of rocks in front of her. It looks like it shouldn't be possible, but there's definitely a fire there. And it makes the air around it warm. So she's pretty toasty now. If you want to say hello, you can be toasty warm, too, as long as you sit down.]
((OOC: replies will likely be slow still, but I'm definitely more here than I have been |D;))

Doesn't seem like you'd have much time to go anywhere else between. There was barely enough time for the rumor to get around about Gringotts. Dunno why you would go there, but everyone saw Potter. You two were probably helping the rebellious students with something. Whatever was going on, it was probably important, seeing as the Dark Lord showed up and demanded we hand over Potter. [Sure, he was giving information about the future, but if Draco was supporting the DA people, then so was he. Not like he could give much more than some vague happenings and rumors though.]
[Notices the look and shrugs.] Any Slytherin worth their weight and doesn't have a brick for a brain makes sure to know what's going on around him. Means it's less likely he's gonna do something stupid because he doesn't know the whole story.

I suppose so... It is important. Everything we did this year has been important. [But such is the life of the 'Chosen One' and his sidekicks... or rather, Undesirable Number One and his Mudblood and Blood Traitor sidekicks.] I would hope they didn't obey his command. I can't imagine the teachers going along with it even if Snape is Headmaster. [The berk. The expression on her face clearly shows what she thinks of this.]
...[Fair enough. She'll just nod.]

I'd hope so, breaking into high risk areas. It was either important or stupid. Though, it could honestly be both too.
As Professor McGonagal said, Snape 'done a bunk.' He was gone by the time all the houses were gathered together to be told things were getting bad. Most of Slytherin house wanted to just give him over, but a majority of the other houses and the teachers were quite against it. [Of course, he's not going to say where he stood in all of this. Where was the fun in that?]
Though, I admit, I wasn't sure if you did recognize me. At least you didn't look surprised at my house. Though, I might have been a tad insulted if you didn't, considering what a lovely relationship your group had with my father, even if it wasn't up to par with Lucius Malfoy. [The tone was casual. Like he was talking about them having tea instead of his father trying to kill some of them.]

You should know that everything we do is both incredibly important and incredibly stupid. [She smirks, though.]
I'm glad to hear that most of the school backed Harry.
[She gives him a calculating look.] Yes, er... it wasn't that difficult to figure out. I do make a habit of knowing as much as I can about everyone.

[Snickers.] Ah, that's the Gryffindor motto, isn't it?? [A joke, really.]
Oh yes. The one time I was actually a bit worried about being in Slytherin. The lot of us got sent away. Afraid any who stayed behind would be a back stabber, I think. Older students didn't really get the option of staying. Not that I really think anyone would, but still.
[Doesn't seem at all worried about the look.] Judging by the fact you didn't freak as soon as I started talking to you, I'm guessing you were giving me the benefit of a doubt I wasn't like him, right? My father, I mean. [Raises an eyebrow. It was a guess, but it was his impression.]

Of course. [She understands, especially as it really does seem to be the trio's motto.]
[She gives the last bit a little thought.] Well, I don't believe all Slytherins are evil. There's some good in nearly everyone and it's best to give the benefit of the doubt in a place like this.

[Looks thoughtful at that, leaning back on his hands, stretching the wings on his back. They still made his shoulders ache. He really should have done more exercise or something.] I wouldn't call it so much as me being 'good' as me being...logical. I won't claim to be noble, but I'll admit, I've always had a distaste for the Death Eater mentality. It's quite irrational.

[She listens thoughtfully.] It's ridiculous, this blood purity thing they claim is true. Many of our schoolmates are Muggle-born or half-blood and look at what we've done. I just... don't understand them.

Well, there is the point in the fact the more we let in those of muggle descent, the more likely we'll be revealed. But that's why Hogwarts is a good idea. Seven years to pull those kids into our wold. Too young to be believed should they start talking about magic, but when they get old enough to be believed, they've already made many strong connections to those in the magical world. It's harder to sell people out when you can put a name to a face.
It's fear that doesn't let them think that way. And then they act stupid, where they even decrease their own number because they refuse to see any good in tai-mixed or muggle blood. [He wasn't always the most mindful, but saying tainted to the muggleborn was begging for a bad reaction.]
