loyalotter: (oh that's not going to end well!)

8th Gryffindor note [voice] / [action]

It seems as though people come and go a lot here. I noticed it a while back, but you don't think the people doing the going will be those you're close to or know well until... they disappear, too. It's too much to hope that things will remain relatively constant, isn't it?

Ron's gone... isn't he?

[Hermione's going to be sitting out in the middle of the ground with a bunch of mats and blankets. She's got a small fire going on a pile of rocks in front of her. It looks like it shouldn't be possible, but there's definitely a fire there. And it makes the air around it warm. So she's pretty toasty now. If you want to say hello, you can be toasty warm, too, as long as you sit down.]

((OOC: replies will likely be slow still, but I'm definitely more here than I have been |D;))

Yeah... I know what you mean.

I guess that means we all need to band together, don't we? Just to... keep each other company.

What good will that do? They could just start sending us home too.

[identity profile] silvergeneral.livejournal.com 2009-12-01 10:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Would the alternative of not knowing them, not befriending them at all, be any better?

[Voice]

[identity profile] loyalotter.livejournal.com 2009-12-01 10:39 pm (UTC)(link)
But at least we'd have each other while we're here. It's better than being all alone.

[identity profile] loyalotter.livejournal.com 2009-12-01 10:40 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't think so as two of the people I'm referring to were friends I had from home. Regardless of whether or not you befriend them here, it's still going to hurt to see them leave.

I suppose it's better than being alone, though.

Being all alone...

[Voice]

[identity profile] loyalotter.livejournal.com 2009-12-01 10:41 pm (UTC)(link)
I can't imagine being alone or wanting to, whether or not it hurts to lose someone.
knightofratatosk: (I don't like this)

[Voice]

[personal profile] knightofratatosk 2009-12-01 10:42 pm (UTC)(link)
But it... it hurts more to lose someone than it would if you never had them in the first place.

[After listening to the entry, Cho makes her way outside to Hermione. She sits down next to Hermione and pulls her into a hug.]

[Voice]

[identity profile] loyalotter.livejournal.com 2009-12-01 10:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Maybe, but it might hurt worse to not feel loved and valued in the first place.

Back home, we were fighting a war, where we didn't know who was going to die next, who would be killed. Yet we still made friends and still kept close to each other because our friends were all we had. I wouldn't trade that for anything and feeling pain when you lose someone... that means you're human, you've got enough emotion to care for people...

[action]

[identity profile] loyalotter.livejournal.com 2009-12-01 10:46 pm (UTC)(link)
[Hermione doesn't look up until she feels herself being hugged. Turning, she returns the embrace.]

Thank you, Cho. How are you doing?
hisdarkmark: (I'm pretty sure this is a felix effect)

[personal profile] hisdarkmark 2009-12-01 10:49 pm (UTC)(link)
[...give it a few minutes, Hermione, but you soon might feel like you're being watched by something from behind that tree over there. A something that's not a person, I might add.]

[identity profile] loyalotter.livejournal.com 2009-12-01 10:50 pm (UTC)(link)
[She does eventually sense it and glances up, looking a bit confused.]
hisdarkmark: (I'll light up the sky)

[personal profile] hisdarkmark 2009-12-01 10:52 pm (UTC)(link)
[And because I have yet to actually icon him, there's going to be slow movements but soon a silvery-mist-like creature reveals itself. It doesn't look too harmful, of course, considering it's small and, well, a coyote pup. It sits on its haunches a few feet from Hermione, looking back and forth between her and the flame]

[identity profile] loyalotter.livejournal.com 2009-12-01 10:54 pm (UTC)(link)
[She blinks down at it, recognizing it immediately as a Patronus, but having no idea whose it is, she just stares.]

And whose Patronus are you?
hisdarkmark: (I control the world around me)

[personal profile] hisdarkmark 2009-12-01 10:56 pm (UTC)(link)
[It's just going to yip at her in response. Hello there strange human being with the flame. Obviously since he can't talk, he'll just creep closer to the fire]
knightofratatosk: (Unsure)

[Voice]

[personal profile] knightofratatosk 2009-12-01 10:56 pm (UTC)(link)
[This is all hitting very close to home for Emil and it's making him a bit uncomfortable. For one thing, he knows all about what it feels like to not be loved and valued.]

So... being able to care about people, is that what makes someone human?

[identity profile] loyalotter.livejournal.com 2009-12-01 10:57 pm (UTC)(link)
[...Why won't whoever belongs to it show themselves? She sighs and curls her knees up to her chin.]

Do you want to see the fire?

[Voice]

[identity profile] loyalotter.livejournal.com 2009-12-01 10:58 pm (UTC)(link)
[sob, if she knew, he'd be another of her 'projects' really fast.]

Yes, in my experience.
hisdarkmark: (/I don't mind being carried)

[personal profile] hisdarkmark 2009-12-01 10:58 pm (UTC)(link)
[Because Draco's a freak and wants to see if Padfoot reacts to Hermione the same way he reacted to Harry. Granted, the Patronus has no idea what's going on, but he's creeping up even closer before sitting and staring at the fire.]
knightofratatosk: (Always by your side)

[Voice]

[personal profile] knightofratatosk 2009-12-01 11:00 pm (UTC)(link)
But people who aren't human can care about others too. Ric-- someone I know is a half-elf, but he can get angry and sad and happy just like I can. And... he cared about someone.

[identity profile] cruxofapotter.livejournal.com 2009-12-01 11:02 pm (UTC)(link)
[Harry's going to come out to visit, because it's been bothering him, too.]

There's no sign of him at all, is there?

[action!]

[identity profile] auror-dora.livejournal.com 2009-12-01 11:05 pm (UTC)(link)
[Tonks caught that voice, and now she's out to find Hermione.]

I'm sorry. D'you think he went back home?

[Simon notices the flame and examines it. It's magic, no doubt. He hopes it isn't made using a human soul...]

Are you a sorceress?
