8th Gryffindor note [voice] / [action]

It seems as though people come and go a lot here. I noticed it a while back, but you don't think the people doing the going will be those you're close to or know well until... they disappear, too. It's too much to hope that things will remain relatively constant, isn't it?

Ron's gone... isn't he?

[Hermione's going to be sitting out in the middle of the ground with a bunch of mats and blankets. She's got a small fire going on a pile of rocks in front of her. It looks like it shouldn't be possible, but there's definitely a fire there. And it makes the air around it warm. So she's pretty toasty now. If you want to say hello, you can be toasty warm, too, as long as you sit down.]

We have something in common today. I heard your voice recording, and...they sent a friend of mine home, too.

[She peers over at Terra. At least it's warm over here.]

You, too, huh? At least we know they're safe at home... but it's still hard to know they're gone.

[Terra nods at that with a small sigh.]

I know he'd want to be here with us, fighting against Kefka. I should be happy that he's home, away from all this--and I am, but...I'll miss him.

[She tilts her head a little.]

I don't think I met your friend.

[Hermione understands, considering Riddle's here, too.] Is the person responsible for the problems in your world, assuming you have any, here as well?

Likely not. You should drop by the house sometime to meet them all. I'm sure you'd like the ones who are still here. [Though Luna would likely confuse the hell out of the poor girl.]

[She smiles a little and nods, awkward but sincere.]

I would like that.

[She grows a little more serious.]

Kefka must still be here, I'm certain of it. He hasn't shown himself since entering the portal, but since no one else has returned, he must still be around somewhere.

[She smiles as well.] I'm sure they'd like to meet you, too.

[And then she pauses. Kefka again.] Celes has told me about him. I hope, for your sake, that he goes home.

I hope so, too, but I doubt very much that the Malnosso will become tired of him yet. The only thing to do is be vigilant and try to prevent or alleviate what harm he causes.

[She bites her lip.]

I worry that he might target the school, if he knows I'm there. I don't want to stop learning, but....

[She hesitates.] Maybe they won't have a choice. We can hope that's the case.

If he does... I'm certain you'll have people who will help you fight him. [Hermione here will, that's for sure. There's a ~~slightly~~ prideful note to her tone when she continues:] I know several protective enchantments that he won't be able to break.

[Terra's brow furrows at that, and she mulls over the idea in silence for a moment, before speaking up again.]

...is it possible for any of them to hide a house?

I was able to hide a tent completely and muffle any sounds with a combination of spells back home. I'm not certain if it would work perfectly here, but it's worth a try.

Actually... [Hello, lightbulb.] The Fidelius Charm can hide your entire house easily and anyone inside it. He wouldn't be able to find you, even if he had his nose up against the window.

[She blinks in surprise, half-expecting to be told that her random idea was impossible.]

That would be very helpful...but is it hard to do?

[Her expression grows worried, not wanting to ask too much.]

I looked up the theory at home, so it shouldn't be too difficult, but it comes with several restrictions you'll need to be careful of.

What are they? I think my housemates would be willing to live with restrictions for the sake of some peace of mind, though of course I would ask them first.

Well, the basis of the spell is that a magical barrier is created around something unmovable. You will have to choose someone to be your Secret-Keeper. Once the charm is in place, no one can find your house unless the Secret-Keeper tells them, thus giving up the secret. Or, if someone spots any of you walking into the magically enclosed area. You'll need to either Apparate- er, Teleport directly inside or somehow be invisible when you enter or anyone could find out.

If that's too much, I can simply cast a bunch of charms, but I'm not sure how long they would hold. If it's to help you out, though, I wouldn't mind trying any number of combinations.

Hm. Celes and I can cast Teleport, but I'm not sure about the rest. Most can manage some stealth, though. It would be worth discussing with them....

[She refocuses her gaze on Hermione after staring off and smiles warmly.]

I don't know what we can do to return the favor, but--thank you. This means a lot to me.

You're my friend, Terra. I want to be sure you're all right.

[She pauses a moment, the smile sliding into seriousness.] You should also be careful of a boy named Tom Riddle. He's... from my world and not exactly trustworthy. If you see him doing anything questionable... can you let me know?

[She nods, memorizing that name.]

Tom Riddle...all right. What do you think he would do?

He'll come off as very kind at first, as though he's really just a normal teenage boy. He's... it's difficult to say. He's very different in my timeline than he is here. I've never met him, but Harry's seen what he was like at this age.

He's manipulative, but if he decides to head down the path he took at home, he'll end up ruthless and he won't hesitate to harm any in his path. He's the reason there's a War going on at home. It's the second one he's caused.

[She frowns upon hearing all that.]

He sounds a lot like Kefka, only more sane. Do you think he will end up trying to start a war here, given enough time?

I don't think you could call Riddle or Voldemort sane. I hope he won't, but it can't hurt to be careful all the same. [She looks a bit worried at this.]

[She nods, trying to force her worry down in favor of determination.]

No, it can't...but if he does start trouble, I want to help. I can't ignore what happens in Luceti, especially if it has the potential to affect everyone.
