[She sounds a bit nervous here.] Harry, it didn't work. I've tried everything I can think of, but the map's not coming along yet. But, Harry... Sirius' mirror... did it come with you to Luceti? Do you think it might be possible to charm one here? With your Mum out there, I think it might be a good idea to find a way to contact her or for her to contact us easily. I could make another paper for her, one that's charmed with three others, another for you, me, and Ron, just in case she needs to contact you.

I'm very glad the tutoring sessions seem to be working out for everyone. I hope all of the New Feathers are settling in well. If any of you, New or Old Feathers, need anything at all, information or someone to study with, I'd be happy to do what I can.

[She's out on the porch reading if anyone wants to interrupt]

[Sighs, grumbling a bit.] You're going to nag me until I do, so I may as well. I guess it might be interesting, and it'd make dad happy.

[she beams.] It's not that bad, Ron. I'll even let you borrow my notes so you can catch up.

[Looks thoroughly unenthusiastic about this entire thing, but feigns excitement briefly.] That's this whole tutoring thing you're on about, right? Helping people with school.

Of course. You wouldn't expect me to sit back and let people fail, would you? Besides, it gives me something to do.

[Kind of makes a wager here with his statement.] I dunno, something's different, given I hear you've befriended Malfoy.

[She looks a little startled at this sudden change.] You aren't going to badger me about it, too, are you?

[Shrugs lightly, handing her her paper back and shoving his hands in his pockets. This is something of a sulk.] You're allowed to be friends with whoever you want to, I just can't figure out why.

[Uh-oh, that sulk never means anything good and she's wary already. After the fight with Harry over this topic, she's not particularly amused by the prospect of one with Ron. Have a sigh.]

It's just... different here. He was here a month before I arrived and the laws of our world don't apply. People don't care about the same things. I think some of that affected him. He's not the same person he was back home.

[Crouches. He really doesn't want to be mad at you when Harry already is, but... seriously. Malfoy? Sighs a little.] Still seems like the same slimy git he always is to me.

[She's aware that Harry's probably still annoyed with her over it and she kind of expects Ron to be, too...] He probably will be for a while. Give him time. He'll come around.

[Just frowns sourly at nothing in particular, surprisingly. For once he has the sense to realize that anything he has to say won't be well-received.]

[She appreciates that, even though she can tell it's hard on him.]

Malfoy aside, are you all right?

[Regards her sidelong for a second, shrugging.] Why wouldn't I be?

Luceti can be a bit overwhelming, that's all.

[Shrugs again. Apathy is not a good way to handle this, Ronald.] It's all right.

[She really doesn't believe that you're okay there, Ron. And a slight frown creases her face.] Ron? You seem upset. Is it just Malfoy or is there something else?

[Breaks out his crackers again, shrugging.] This whole place is just kind of a drag. It's all right, and it's certainly a break from all the... Horcrux-hunting and running for our lives and whatnot, but it's still kind of a drag. [Because you and Harry are fighting, and you're friends with Draco and at this point Harry's almost-not girlfriend from fifth year and Luna are the only people that are completely normal. And maybe Tonks and Lupin, but we haven't actually talked to them yet.]

[She leans over a bit to rest her arms on her knees. She can understand where you're coming from, Ron, but it's still a little hard on her... well it's always hard to be in the middle of a disagreement, no matter who it is.]

I suppose it is. I've barely given it much thought; I've been too busy.

[Shrugs yet again.]

You're doing important stuff, 's all right. ... [Nom. Holds the sleeve out toward her again.] Sure you don't want one?

[She looks up and finally takes one, nibbling on the edge.] Thanks. [And then she sighs and rubs her head with one hand.] I suppose so. I mean, I'm trying to research what I can, but I guess... with Riddle here, I've been distracted.

Doing a lot better than I am, but I've never been much for research. Don't know how you do it, really.

[This is starting to sound really tense and she does not like it at all.]

You know I like that sort of thing. It's like you like flying around on brooms. I don't know how you can be so high up all the time and not be afraid of falling. [She shudders slightly.]

[Well given the lengthy and ...surprisingly decent, in places, conversation he had with Draco, yeah. >>;]

It's not like you aren't in control. [Almost offers to help her out sometime, but stops. That's pushing it.]

I never felt in control. I just felt like I was going to slip off at any moment and you'd surely die without help if you fell from that far up.

...Well since you're making me study, maybe I ought to make you take some flying lessons? If we have to get away from somewhere quick sometime, I dunno how many thestrals we'll find around here. [There. We found a way to offer to help that didn't make it look like we were ...offering to help. What the hell, Ron.]
