[This part is muttered, as though she didn't really want it to be broadcast.] So... who's still missing a wand? I don't recognise this one.
I'm going to be wandering around the park today. Does anyone want to join me? It sounds like just the relaxation we all could use.
[It's been about a day since she found it but she hasn't told anyone about it yet. Currently, she's wandering the park with it, though it's tucked away in her handbag, wrapped up of course. She's not going to risk breaking a magical item like that. Feel free to stop her outside a ride or something. You might be able to convince her to go inside. She does, however, look a bit preoccupied.]

Oh... That could be very fun. I'm rather curious about it myself. Would you like to see it, then?
[Action]
I think I passed it, not too far behind us.
[And with that...off to the House?]
[Action]
[Action]
It's strange to me, too. We have fairs, but nothing like this! It seems strange that they'd do something nice for us, though if there was something to worry about, I think we would have gotten word by now.
[Might as well enjoy it, at least so she thought. And upon reaching the house, she steps inside, only to find a passageway of mirrors. She glances into one and blinks, startled to see her child (http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y164/evilhippygoddess/FFIV-RydiaSprite_DS.jpg?t=1256661304) self starting back at her.]
[Action]
[She steps in after Rydia and is immediately greeted with a picture of the time she'd been Petrified in the hallways by the basilisk in second year. She's lying on the floor with the mirror in her uplifted hand, a look of shock on her face. If Rydia looks carefully, there's a small piece of paper wadded up in her tightly clenched other hand.]
Well... that was unexpected.
[Action]
What happened? You look as though you were hit with a Stop spell....
[Action]
I was Petrified by a basilisk. Normally, looking directly into their eyes will kill you instantly, but I'd just discovered what was lurking around the school and told the first person I came across to look around corners with a mirror. Penelope pulled out her handmirror and, well... the basilisk happened to be right there where we looked. We were Petrified instead of killed as we didn't look at it directly.
[Action]
[She wrinkles her nose, speaking from experience.]
[Action]
Their cousins? Do you mind telling me about them?
[Action]

[Action]
It's expensive, but not difficult. Gold Needles easily restore someone from a petrified state. They're a restorative you can buy in just about any town.
[Action]
I was Petrified for a long time, it sounded like, before the Mandrakes matured enough that year.
[Action]
I hope that doesn't need to happen often. It would be horrible to wait for so long. The Gold Needles are common, but that's because monsters that can petrify are pretty common too, depending on where you go.
[She glances at another mirror...and stares. This is not an image she ever wanted to see again, for all that it was burned into her mind, anyway. A village was on fire, flames and bodies everywhere. And there was a little green-haired girl sobbing over the body of a woman. Looking as though she'd been slapped, Rydia stepped back.]
[Action]
[Hermione is just about to turn away when she catches sight of Rydia's expression. Glancing into the mirror, she frowns at the sight.]
Are you all right?
[She looks back at her friend, and then again at the mirror. Her own shock registers on her face as she spots herself pointing her wand at two adults who look quite a lot like she does. First at the woman and then at the man. Tears are streaming down her mirror self's eyes as she whispers something. The adults' eyes go blank for a second and then refocus. The real Hermione's hands lift to her mouth in shock.]
I think... I think this mirror likes the really difficult memories.
[Action]
...I thought this was supposed to be entertainment. How on earth does this count? Maybe those other mirrors show something better.
[If they don't, Rydia will leave. She's not interested in reliving the past.]
[Action]
I think they're supposed to show the past, present, and future. Oh! [She's just spotted a silver animal cavorting around her mirror self. It's an otter and looks to be made up of silver mist.]
[Action]
...what is that?
[Action]
It's my Patronus. It's a spell of happiness and protection that manifests itself in the form of whatever animal best matches the caster's personality. Mine is an otter. I can show you if you'd like.
[Action]
[Rydia was extremely curious about other world's magic. Even if she couldn't gain it for herself -and she didn't expect to- it was still fascinating to see at work. Besides, that little otter was cute.]
[Action]
Expecto Patronum! [And now there's a little silver otter cavorting around the real Hermione, being guided by her wand. And somehow, being near the otter completely obliterates the bad memories from just a moment ago. It's as if they weren't even there to begin with.]
[Action]
My world doesn't have this spell, but I'm starting to wish it did. Can anyone capable of magic in your world do it?
[Action]
It's very, very advanced magic and not everyone can cast it because it requires such a strongly happy memory. Not just anything will do.
[We're not going to mention our own difficulties with the spell because Hermione's perfect spellcasting is legendary, thanks.]
Sometimes they're very good for a little happiness when you're feeling upset. It's hard to stay upset around a Patronus if you can hold onto that happy memory for long enough.
[Action]
It's adorable. I can see why it would be so difficult to cast, though. Not everyone's lucky enough to have a strong, happy memory. I can think of maybe one that would qualify...two, perhaps.
[Action]
[Eventually she lets the otter go, turning to smile at Rydia. The otter in the mirror is still there, though.]
