[She sounds a bit nervous here.] Harry, it didn't work. I've tried everything I can think of, but the map's not coming along yet. But, Harry... Sirius' mirror... did it come with you to Luceti? Do you think it might be possible to charm one here? With your Mum out there, I think it might be a good idea to find a way to contact her or for her to contact us easily. I could make another paper for her, one that's charmed with three others, another for you, me, and Ron, just in case she needs to contact you.

I'm very glad the tutoring sessions seem to be working out for everyone. I hope all of the New Feathers are settling in well. If any of you, New or Old Feathers, need anything at all, information or someone to study with, I'd be happy to do what I can.

[Hermione really doesn't blame her all that much. She's just exceptionally thankful that this Luna hasn't been locked up in the Manor for months on end.

Well I hope they are. I've done many of the same charms on these, but I'm still not certain if they'll hold for an extended period. You can write on yours, though, and we'll all see it. And if someone else writes on theirs, you'll see it on yours.

I've also charmed them to look like to-do lists if anyone else looks at them.

[At least she dealt with that rather well. And nope, she never will except in a way you'll approve of.]

That is clever! I would have charmed it to appear a bad limerick or something like that.

[And Hermione said write on it, sooo... she'll take the paint brush from behind her ear, which still has some blue on it, and make a swirly little "L" in one corner as a test.]

[She winces slightly as Luna takes the brush to write on the paper, glad she thought to make them impossible to break just for Luna.] It showed up on my paper, even if you can't see it.

[And all the papers might have that on them now permanently, since it is paint and all. But, it's one small corner, it'll be all right.]

Good! I think these will work very well.

[...Maybe she can eventually transfigure it off or something...]

I'm glad you approve, but... try to use pencil or something erasable next time, won't you?

Oh! All right! [She might go rub it with turpentine or something.] What's a pencil?

[Hermione's lips twitch in a smile as she pulls out a pencil and gives it to Luna.] See? You can erase your marks that way.

You can keep that one. I've got a bunch.

[The wizarding world is backwards and still uses quills and ink. Luna studies the pencil very carefully, poking at the eraser with the tip of one finger before peering at Hermione.]

Is it enchanted? Will it bite if someone besides you uses it?

[Must not laugh. Must not look like Luna's crazy.]

Do you really think I'd give you something like that? It's perfectly safe.

[Excuse us, the word you're looking for is odd, thank you very much.]

It could be enchanted to bite anyone not a member of the DA. But thank you very much, Hermione.

[And she'll stow it in a pocket quite serenely.]

Well that could serve your purposes well if it got lost, wouldn't it? It's not a problem.

Have you been settling in well, Luna?

Oh yes, very well. [She has a serene smile on her face.] The people here are very nice. It's like having friends.

[She's used to that specific Luna-smile.] I would hope you could consider some of us friends.

[Yes, Luna. She considers you a friend and is insinuating such.]

I do. But I haven't seen you much recently.

[Because you three have been trekking around the country doing who-knows-what while she's been trying to steal you a sword.]

[Hey the sword thing was appreciated, even if it did land you guys a trip to the Forest, not that this is much of a problem for any of you three.]

Maybe we ought to change that. [And she smiles warmly. She's trying, okay?]

[Who cares about the forest anymore. It can't hurt them.]

We shall. I think we'll have to, being here.

Then we will. The house is only so big, after all. [She smiles anyway.]
