2nd New Gryffindor Note - voice / action

[ she turns on the feed, running a hand through her hair as she prepares what she wants to say. ]

It has come to my attention that there are quite a few different people here, more so, even, than when I was last here. I’m glad to see so many people can, and are, getting along in spite of it, or perhaps because of it. Really, we ought to be advocating equality, especially in a place like this, where we may only have each other to rely on when things are difficult.

In my homeworld, there are many different people as well, varying from humans to giants and even goblins and house-elves. There’s a stigma against all non- or part-humans, given by a lot of wizards who believe in blood purity. They believe that only wizards with pure blood are of any worth and treat the rest of us like we mean nothing to them. [ yes, she did just say “we.” go ahead. ask her about it. ] During my fourth year at wizarding school, I created a society called S.P.E.W., or the Society for the Promotion of Elfish Welfare, dedicated to promoting house-elves in the interest of freeing them and gaining them better rights in the Wizarding World. [ don’t even try to convince her that wasn’t a good idea. ]

Recently, I have heard a great deal about a group of people here in Luceti who have received as much ill-will as goblins, giants, and house-elves back at home. That is why I have decided to create a group much like S.P.E.W. called S.A.V.E., the Society Advocating Vampiric Education-

[ a shuffle and the sound of a door banging open interrupts her, followed by a male voice. ]

What the bloody hell are you trying to create now? S.P.E.W. didn't even work out! [ people who know the voice will recognize it as draco’s. ]

It worked out fine! [ there’s more shuffling as hermione stands up from the bed and basically kicks draco out of her room. ] Please, I’m trying to help! [ she huffs and sits back down. ]

As I was saying, I believe we can make a difference in the lives of those here in Luceti, both vampire and non. And honestly, we ought to be working together, not blaming one or two groups of people just so we can feel better about ourselves.

If anyone is interested in joining, all I ask is that you uphold the society’s desire for equality and kindness. I made badges- [ she holds one up. they’re pretty decently sized, round red buttons with gold lettering that says “S.A.V.E. for a brighter future for all.”

draco’s voice returns in the background, yelling through the door to be caught on the journal recording anyway. ]
WHY ARE THEY GRYFFINDOR COLORS?! [ which she is... ignoring. ]

If you’d like one, I’ll be by the fountain all day. Please, don’t let prejudices get in the way of true friendship and kindness. Not everyone falls under labels they’re placed under and not all of those under the negative labels really are as bad as they are made out to be.

[ after this, she can be found by the fountain, as she said. draco will likely be with her, so you may encounter them both. ]

Ah, well, n-not against their will. It's such a touchy subject to begin with as is. I doubt sticking people in a room and giving them a piece of our minds will do much. But I'm sure if we go about it a certain way there's bound to be some improvements.

[ Helios pauses thinking back on all his discussions and talks to other people about such matters. ] A good friend of mine lives in a world that has vampires. They're entirely different than ones in my world, mannerisms wise at least. Demons that have possessed the body of someone who has recently passed on is what he told me they were. He wasn't very taken with the idea about vampires being equal to humans or even being able to get along with them.

[ It's been awhile since they've had a talk about things like this but Helios thinks he's at least turned Giles a little in his favor. ] Other worlds have creatures but they're quite feral and often attacked by the people there and vise versa. [ Hence why this is such a difficult subject to even try to consider for some people. ]

All right, so we have to come up with a "certain way." [Yes, he just used air quotes.

However he stops mocking him long enough to actually listen. Draco's not stupid. He's got a good idea of whom it is, exactly, that Helios is referring to, if he can go by what Ginia's told him. He shrugs slightly though because it finally clicks just what the older man's saying.]

One of the vampires I've met here? I want to kill him for nearly killing me. However there's one I've met that isn't half-bad, and there's another that I'd like to keep as safe as possible. But because of the feral ones, the civilized ones have the same stigma. That's ultimately why we--why Hermione created S.A.V.E.

Your friend wouldn't be willing to change his mind, would he? [Please ignore the question and the tone that sounds almost threatening. He would just really, really like to make sure Caroline doesn't get staked.]

This is only a start. Proving that there are vampires who don't go around killing people is another good start, but I'm not going to tell anyone's story for them, not when there's so much hate going around as it is.

[ she stops to listen, though, looking quite pleased with herself as draco points out her reasons for creating this new organization. ]
folklorist: (Sigh. Yes of course.)

Yes a certain way so as to not step on any toes, for an already heated topic. [ Helios' eyes widen. ]

You mean you were attacked? Oh my I-I'm so sorry about that. [ Helios sighs closing his eyes. Giles. He's not sure the other really needs to change his mind. Angel...no, Angellus killed him. Killed someone he held dear to him, how was someone supposed to change towards vampires when one of them took away so much from them? ] I'm not sure they would, to be honest.

I do believe vampires can have the capacity to change, to um, forgo the need to feed off of humans, at least here. I-I believe the bar has blood in supply for them at least. But with the experiments that occur and the havoc they cause in general...it might make this all the more challenging. [ But he smirks shaking his head. ]

But who doesn't like a good challenge, hm?
hisdarkmark: (I think this backfired)

It can't be that difficult to come up with a concept. Three brilliant minds combining and all of that.

A few months ago, yes. [Harrrrth. CUUURSESSS. Though he's going to frown slightly. That's what he thought. Not that he really knows the story of Giles and Jenny and Angelus...and, well, Helios doesn't need to know he's taken to bothering Angel, right? Right.] We'll see. Having a good reason is one thing, but Hermione might be able to convince them.

...one of the vampires I know has a tendency to either drink at the bar or prey on small animals. [Which is actually something that still kind of grosses him out, and if Hermione's watching him close enough she might notice he's making a face. Seriously, it still takes a little practice to not think about the fact that prior to their snogging Caroline could have been chowing down on bunny blood.] If an experiment were to occur though, I should hope that we as S.A.V.E. and the vampires themselves have a plan to help stabilize themselves and keep them from hurting not only the community but themselves.

[...gdi Hermione, why is he starting to sound like you, why? But he can't help but echo with his own smirk.]

Glad you see it that way. It's quite the challenge.

[action] - argh, i'm sorry if this posts more than once...

[identity profile] loyalotter.livejournal.com 2011-12-15 08:13 pm (UTC)(link)
We'll come up with something. I've had to do things like this before.

[ and she's about to add something to that, but oh, what is this? could that be draco starting to talk like her? he's saying everything she would say exactly as she would say it-

oh she'll just be over here with the biggest smirk on her face. thank you, draco. you have just made her month. yes, she did notice the look he made as he talked about drinking animal blood, but she's too involved in gloating in her corner to really pay much attention to what it means. she'll figure it out once she's had a chance to let her ego float around a bit. ]
I couldn't have said it better. It's a challenge we'll take up quite willingly. It can't be any harder than things we've done in the past.
folklorist: (Ever so curious)

[action] - ugh this is so late sorry!

[personal profile] folklorist 2011-12-21 04:34 am (UTC)(link)
I can see that you have. [ Which is unfortunate when you think about but Helios has as well and Hermione is a smart girl, she surely will figure out some way in the end. ]

But yes...the experiments are probably the biggest issue for something like this. Perhaps having a plan for when they occur. M-maybe making everyone part of S.A.V.E. check-in, especially the vampiric residence, and if they d-don't respond and no known cause such as being on a mission or being t-taken buy the droids has been mentioned...we could possibly try to locate them.

[ Which might be hard in all honesty. ] Although there is a spell that might work...

[action] - no worries <3

[personal profile] hisdarkmark 2011-12-21 09:39 am (UTC)(link)
Tracking, then. You want to track the vampires.

[Though that's not a bad idea.] What sort of a spell do you know? It might be on par with something we know.

[action] - <3 like i can really say anything |D

[identity profile] loyalotter.livejournal.com 2011-12-22 08:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Then by all rights, we ought to track ourselves and each other, as well. [ equality in all forms. ]

We do have a lot that might work...
folklorist: (Ever so curious)

[action] - I blame LJs faiiiil

[personal profile] folklorist 2011-12-27 09:02 pm (UTC)(link)
It would be useful even if just during experiments as well. [ Helios looks at the two of them. ]

What sort of spells do you have? I-I know of a few tracking enchantments that be applied to objects and a spell or two that can used on the actual person...
hisdarkmark: (Default)

[action] - LJ's being a serious butt

[personal profile] hisdarkmark 2011-12-28 07:31 pm (UTC)(link)
...tracking might be a bit harder, though I'm sure we've got some things to work around. Hermione might know more about stalking people than I do.
