1st Gryffindor Note - [Text, then audio post]

[Have a really, REALLY shaky handwriting, as though whoever's writing this hurts quite a bit or is exceptionally scared... or hey, why not both. And there's an ink splotch on the top.]

.../looks like a diary. I can't tell.

[Another ink blot, but this one's apparently intentional.]

It's not like what Harry described Riddle's diary as being. I don't suppose it responds to voice commands. My hand hurts too much to write.

[Oh hey, it's swapped to voice here. Have a thumping sound and a soft 'oof.' She's fallen off the bed. And her voice next is really soft, as though she's not aware the thing is recording.]

My handbag. Bellatrix's wand. They're -

[And give her about twenty minutes since she was already in the area, and she'll be knocking on the door before opening it a little to peak in.]

Hello. Sorry to barge in. I didn't think you'd want to move around much.

[That's all right; Hermione's still exhausted. She offers a smile when she recognises Rinoa.]

It's all right. I didn't really. This place - Luceti it's called? - is very different from what I'm used to.

It's different from what everyone's used to when they first arrive.

[She walks into the room and towards Hermione, and it's now that Hermione might notice that there's a dog walking behind Rinoa.]

Would you like me to cast Curaga on your wings? It won't take all the pain away, but it can make it better enough for you to move around.

I suppose it would be. It is a strange place.

[She does indeed and it reminds her a bit of Sirius, which is a sad point, but at least Harry's not here to see it. She's more of a cat person, herself, but she smiles at the dog all the same.]

I've never heard of Curaga, but judging by the name, it sounds like a healing spell. I don't know how much it'll help, but... anything to lessen the pain would be nice. I'd do it myself, but I don't have my wand with me.

[The moment she gets the okay, she begins casting. No wand needed here. Of course, when she's done only a few seconds later, she'll be giving her a curious look.]

You're wand?

[Well that feels better. Hermione tries out a few of her limbs, including the new pale green wings. She's still incredibly sore from Bellatrix's 'fun time' but at least she's sure she can walk around a bit better now.]

Thank you. That's much better. [Have a small smile.]

Yes, my wand. That's how I cast magic, but it's obviously not the same kind as yours. I doubt my wand would be here, but even Bellatrix's wand would be useful, much as I hate it.

Well, you'll have to try searching through the shops. I'm sure it's possible for you to find it. You'll probably have to go there anyway if you want your clothes returned, which I'm sure you do.

[Have a smile from Rin, and a dog sniffing you before deciding to give your hand a little lick. See, she's friendly.]

[Hermione smiles in return and scratches the dog's ears gently.]

That's the second mention of the shops. So that's the first place I'll go once I'm not quite as sore and then the library. I have a lot of research to do.

Well, research is fine, just make sure to get to know everyone around here too. It comes in handy.

[Hermione smiles at that, still looking down at the dog.]

People don't always like me because I'm such a bookworm, but I'll try.

[The dog likes that scratching, and is starting to lean into Hermione's hand.]

Oh, I'm sure you'll find a few other bookworms around here, just realize that in a place like this, it's best to have some ally's. And as far as I'm concerned, you've managed find your first already.

[oh hey... that whole friends and allies thing makes Hermione really smile. She treasures her friends.]

I've been here for over a year now. It makes me feel like I've been here too long now actually.

[Her smile falters now as she thinks about Harry and Ron at home without her.]

I can't imagine being here for that long. There's so much I have to do at home.

Listen, I don't know all the details, but from what I can tell from my experience here, if you get sent home, you end up back in the exact same point time where you left. It's never happened to me specifically, but I know a couple people who it has happened to.

[And she looks up sharply at that. Such a relief to hear, really.]

Really? That's really comforting to hear since we've got so much to do and it's all really important.

I understand. I had important things to do back in my world too, but my friends and I were lucky enough to finish that before we ended up here. Still, there's a lot of clean up left to do.

[And though she won't admit it right now, she is a little scared about returning home due to her position as a sorceress.]

I was in the middle of a lot of important things, alongside my two best friends, something we were left to do, and I'd rather not go home and find out that Harry and Ron couldn't complete it without me. So much is riding on our success.

I know what you mean. In my world, before I ended up here, there was this sorceress. She was messing with time, and it was throwing our world off balance. My friends and I had to stop her, and we did. Though we almost didn't make it in the process.

Now, we just have to clean up the mess she caused, and that's something that's not easy.

That sounds similar to my world. Except ours was a Dark Wizard and he's out for pure-blood supremacy. So he's killing loads of people for sport or because he thinks they're a danger to him.

It means a lot to me because I'm Muggle-born and I don't like watching people kill like that.

[She's obviously not familiar with that term.]

Oh, right. It means I have magic but I was born to non-magical parents. People who believe in pure-blood supremacy claim Muggle-borns have dirty blood. 'Mudbloods' they call us. [The momentary scowl on her face shows exactly what she thinks of that.]
