15th Gryffindor Note - [Written] - [Action for Harry, Ron, and Terra]

I'm going to be out for the day. Hopefully it won't be longer. If you really need me, send word to Neville or Luna. They'll be able to contact me. I hope everyone's doing well today. Obviously, I won't be able to be in class, the library, or the Welcome Center, so I apologise for that. I'll return as quickly as possible.

Hermione

[Action for Harry, Ron, and Terra]
[Well, the day has come and now she's waiting outside House 26 for everyone to convene. She's pretty sure Harry and Ron are at least awake by now, but if they don't show up by the time Terra gets there, she's going back in and waking them up again. Her handbag is ready on her arm, packed with clothes for the trio plus an extra set for Terra just in case they stay for longer than a day. She's got enough food packed for about a week, again just in case, and anything else they might need. Hermione is nothing if not overly prepared.

So, she's standing with her arms crossed over her chest, waiting for the first person to show up.]

((OOC: Hermione and company are taking a trip to the mountains and would prefer not to be interrupted, so she won't be answering replies ICly until the evening, either when they stop for the night or she gets home. If people reply, I'll be intentionally vague til I know for sure which one it'll be. Also, Tai, I will be so so so so amused if Luna decides to paint a mural of a Crumple-Horned Snorkak on the walls while Hermione's gone or something like that. The resulting explosion will be SO worth it XD))

[Okay, so maybe he should have started packing earlier than this morning. Or not spent last night being an idiot. But he manages to rush it and get something together in time to leave. And yet, he somehow manages to be the first to arrive.]

'lo, Hermione.

[identity profile] loyalotter.livejournal.com 2010-06-14 06:05 pm (UTC)(link)
[She glances up at the sound of the front door closing and smiles as she recognises Harry. Maybe a little talk while they waited for the others would be a good thing to pass the time.]

Morning, Harry. How are you feeling?

[identity profile] esper-flight.livejournal.com 2010-06-14 07:04 pm (UTC)(link)
[Terra arrives, having packed very little. She doubts much in the way of supplies will be needed, for one, and prefers traveling light, especially since it's possible to teleport back to town if something needs to be retrieved. Her sword is at her hip, though, as she almost never parts with that.

Upon spotting Hermione and Harry ahead, Terra waves as she quickens her approach.]

Good morning! I hope I'm not late....

[identity profile] sacrificemyself.livejournal.com 2010-06-15 12:34 am (UTC)(link)
[Ron had nearly forgotten that he was supposed to meet the others in the morning, and so he's just glad that he's awake and dressed at a reasonable time. Or reasonable for him, at least, as he's no idea whether or not he's left anyone waiting.

Rubbing sleep out of his eyes and having grabbed an apple on his way out, Ron stops when he sees the others, just catching the tail end of Terra's statement.]

Late? I'm not late? The sun's still up, so I couldn't be that late....

[identity profile] loyalotter.livejournal.com 2010-06-15 04:08 am (UTC)(link)
[Hermione smiles and waves to Terra when she gets out and then tries so hard not to roll her eyes at Ron. Always late, and always kind of disheveled. It's cute... in a way. Um, right... that mission.]

Ron, just because the sun's still up doesn't mean you aren't late. [But she's smiling this time, so it's still okay!]

All right. Now that everyone's here, we should think about how we want to get there. It's a long walk from here to the mountains, so I can Apparate everyone if that's all right. Just hold on tight to me.

Oh, and I packed enough supplies for us in case we get stuck up there.

[Not that she's expecting to, but it never hurts to be prepared!]

[identity profile] cruxofapotter.livejournal.com 2010-06-16 03:07 am (UTC)(link)
[Harry smiles briefly at the banter. He doesn't want to admit he's sort of missed going on an adventure like this, and this trip can't be nearly as bad as anything they did before they got there.]

'm fine, Hermione. [He stifles a yawn.] Apparating's fine with me, if the others are alright with it.

[identity profile] esper-flight.livejournal.com 2010-06-16 04:12 am (UTC)(link)
[Terra smiled as Ron joined them, listening to the banter curiously before nodding in agreement with Harry. She'd never Apparated before, but by this point thoroughly trusted Hermione's magic.]

It's like a Teleport spell, isn't it? That's fine.

[She stepped in close, to hold on.]

[identity profile] sacrificemyself.livejournal.com 2010-06-16 04:51 am (UTC)(link)
[Ron tilts his head at Hermione, not sure if she's scolding him. That smile completely throws him off this early in the morning.

He looks to Terra at her question.]

I guess, yeah. Zips you from one place to the other. You just need to hold on tight to the person Apparating you, or else you might end up splinched.

[With that, he turns back to Hermione, moves to take her hand, then hesitates. Furtively glancing at Harry and trying not to blush (because really, Harry notices more of those little things than Ron likes to admit sometimes), grasps her arm just above the elbow instead.]

[identity profile] loyalotter.livejournal.com 2010-06-16 05:05 am (UTC)(link)
[Yes, she's scolding him, but yes, it's okay. She shakes her head a little and nods in agreement to Ron's words to Terra.... and then shoots him a glare.]

I am not going to Splinch anyone this time. Honestly. [One mistake under pressure... Have a little faith! And a glare. He's just lucky she's paying more attention to making sure she has a good enough grip on Terra's arm as well so she misses Ron's movement completely.]

All right. Here we go! [And she turns on the spot, focusing as hard as she can on the entrance to the mountain path she knows of. They land pretty easily. At least it's not like the time after the Ministry... or y'know Apparating under the invisibility cloak all the time... Hermione lets go of Terra and turns to look at everyone to be sure they all made it out okay.]

Everyone all right? [As though she could have Splinched someone! ... er again. That was just because she'd bee freaking out over Yaxley! She's just going to ignore the pain that brings up.]

Right... Terra, you know the best and most secluded places, right? Can you show us?

[identity profile] esper-flight.livejournal.com 2010-06-17 02:34 am (UTC)(link)
[Terra looks a bit nervous at mention of splinching, not sure what that is but doubting it's pleasant. She holds on tight...and looks visibly relieved that whatever splinching was, it hadn't happened to her. There's a nod to Hermione as she steps back and glances ahead.]

Of course. I don't see a lot of people visit the mountains anyway, but once we got a little further, you'll begin to see side-paths. Some of those are dead-ends, but some lead to caves and either way, I think they would be secluded enough....

[It'll be a little different to see them on the ground instead of above, but her sense of direction is decent, and so she steps onto the mountain path, ready to point out the side passages as they come.]

[identity profile] cruxofapotter.livejournal.com 2010-06-22 11:38 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm fine. All in one piece.

[Harry feels safer once they're in the mountains, knowing the Apparation back will be easier. Being inside the mountains is certainly different, but he's worried about everyone's safety while being so high up.]

Is there a sort of area you think might be good for practicing magic around here? We'd have to be ready for avalanches and that sort of thing.

[identity profile] sacrificemyself.livejournal.com 2010-06-23 01:58 am (UTC)(link)
[jfc, Hermione, Ron hadn't even been thinking about the time he'd gotten splinched. Because ow, who wants to remember nearly losing his arm?

But he doesn't say anything about it, though, since it's probably not a good thing to mention to someone who's Apparating for the first time, and instead is just happy to get there in one piece. And he's debating taking Hermione's hand when everyone else let's go of her, but um. No. Because Harry would look at him funny. And he doesn't really want to hold her hand anyway. Right.

So he contents himself with walking besides her, looking from Terra to Harry as they speak in turns.]

Well, if we climb high enough, I don't reckon we'll have to worry much about avalanches. [Though he can't help muttering under his breath:] This would be a whole lot easier with a couple of decent brooms, though.

[identity profile] loyalotter.livejournal.com 2010-06-23 02:04 am (UTC)(link)
[It's not her fault! You mentioned Splinching, Ron! It's the logical conclusion to make!

Except broom charms don't seem to work quite the same here as they did at home.]

Or we have magic that can stop it. With enough wind magic, the new DA could do it and we have ours to back them up. Banishing Charms would works, and Vanishing Spells. I think we'd be all right.

Any kind of seclusion and isolation would be perfect. Then I'll pick one and test my charms.

[identity profile] esper-flight.livejournal.com 2010-06-23 06:46 pm (UTC)(link)
[Terra thinks over Harry's question as they proceed, as well as Ron's statement.]

Hm...one of the paths does lead upward to a wide ledge, in front of a cave. The ground is pretty level in that spot, and I don't think we'd have to worry about avalanches as much, but there are other areas that can work, too. There's a lower area that's also level, but the mountains obscure it pretty well from above. I had a look from a higher point.....

[She glances toward Hermione.]

The latter one isn't that far. The other is a bit further away, but it's probably even better isolated.

[Not wanting to be all talk, she points in the general directions of both sites and glances over as they pass the first side-path. She shakes her head at it, though.]

That won't help us. It's just a dead end without much room to it.

Wait... there are classes here? I didn't know that! When you get back, maybe we could go together?

[Written]

[identity profile] loyalotter.livejournal.com 2010-06-15 12:44 am (UTC)(link)
Yes. There's a school in the village and anyone is welcome to attend.

Cool! What kind of classes do they teach? Ooh! I hope they have pottery!

[Written]

[identity profile] loyalotter.livejournal.com 2010-06-16 05:07 am (UTC)(link)
It's mostly things like science and math, but if you're interested, I'm sure someone could teach other things.

Re: [Written]

[identity profile] sofar-sogr8.livejournal.com 2010-06-16 04:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh... Well, I guess those things are important to learn... eheheh!
Maybe I should look into it! You know, for the pottery classes.

[Written]

[identity profile] loyalotter.livejournal.com 2010-06-21 10:24 pm (UTC)(link)
You could teach them or ask if anyone else could. It would be worth it if you enjoy it so much.

Re: [Written]

[identity profile] sofar-sogr8.livejournal.com 2010-06-22 11:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, I couldn't teach pottery. I don't know anything about it! It's just something I've always wanted to do. Heheh!

[Written]

[identity profile] loyalotter.livejournal.com 2010-06-23 03:54 am (UTC)(link)
Then you should ask around and see if someone else can teach it!

Re: [Written]

[identity profile] sofar-sogr8.livejournal.com 2010-06-23 04:47 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, good idea. I don't know if I'd be able to take on another class.

[identity profile] loyalotter.livejournal.com 2010-06-23 03:40 pm (UTC)(link)
You won't know until you try.

Re: [Written]

[identity profile] sofar-sogr8.livejournal.com 2010-06-23 05:04 pm (UTC)(link)
True! I'm helping Brook teach music, but learning pottery shouldn't interrupt that. It might get hectic if I had to teach it though. Heheh!

[identity profile] loyalotter.livejournal.com 2010-06-25 03:02 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm sure someone here knows something about pottery. You should ask over the journals. People have all sorts of abilities here.

You seem like a smart girl! Do you have any special skills?

[Written]

[identity profile] loyalotter.livejournal.com 2010-06-25 05:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Not really. Magic, but that's normal where I'm from.

Re: [Written]

[identity profile] sofar-sogr8.livejournal.com 2010-06-27 05:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Magic?
No way! There's no such thing as magic!

... Is there?

[Written]

[identity profile] loyalotter.livejournal.com 2010-07-02 05:49 pm (UTC)(link)
In this world there is, lots of it and all kinds. You can even learn some if you try to listen for the spirits.

Re: [Written]

[identity profile] sofar-sogr8.livejournal.com 2010-07-03 02:22 am (UTC)(link)
Oh. I've heard about the spirits. I don't think I've mastered them quite yet! Heh!

[Written]

[identity profile] loyalotter.livejournal.com 2010-07-03 04:20 pm (UTC)(link)
It takes time, but it's worth it. Try talking to Nala. She's the easiest to speak with.

Thank you, Hermione! I'll definitely seek her out!

[When they meet in person, there's a good chance Sonny will mispronounce Hermione's name.]

Great! Let me know how it goes.

[Well, she's used to Krum, so it can't be any worse.]
