11th Gryffindor Note - [text/Action]
...Well that was certainly interesting. I hope everyone made it out of the snow and back to their residences safely. I was caught at home, so I'm fine. If any of my housemates are coming home frozen, I'll have my bluebell flames in their jar in the middle of the common room.
I'd also like to hear from everyone I haven't spoken to yet since the blizzard ended. How are you all doing?
[Hermione is going to send a Messenger Patronus to her housemates, no matter where they are. It says, "Are you all right? Please see me. I need to teach you this." Except to Harry. His says, "I need to teach you this and for you to teach me something," but it comes back to her, whining...
[She'll be waiting on the bottom floor.]

Well, we can't use it all the time or we'll have Patrunuses catching the Malnosso's attention and we don't want that.
[She pats the floor next to her.]
All right. I'll assume I don't need to remind you of how to cast a general Patronus.
[Action]
[She gladly takes a seat next to you, Hermione, and crosses her legs]
You'd assume correctly.... Expecto Patronum. [Between getting her wand back and the necklace she's wearing, she has happy thoughts abound~ And there's that pretty Swan patronus that she adores so much]
[Action]
[She smiles as you sit down and turns to face you.]
...Does yours have a name yet?
[It's off-topic, but come on; they all need a little happiness these days.]
[Action]
[Action]
[She shifts a little and pulls out her wand.]
The Patronus Messenger is more difficult than the normal Patronus because you have to concentrate on more than just the spell itself. You have to focus on what you want to say and who it's going to find. It's harder the longer the message is and the further the person is from you. I'd suggest starting with one word and me right here.
The incantation is exactly the same, but your focus must include both the happy memory and the words you want your Patronus to say.
[Action]
Expecto Patronum... [She was right, it was more difficult focusing on both, but the Swan reappeared and flew to Hermione, speaking the word "Ravenclaw"... But if Cho sent it any farther, she knew she would have a lot more trouble...]
Did you see that? [of course she did] I did it!
[Action]
Very good! [Still, she's thrilled.]
You can try casting it a little further each time and soon you'll manage anything you need it to do. I'm working to find out if it's possible to cast it in a specific place so the Patronus doesn't have to actually run across a long distance, but I haven't finished research yet.
[Action]
Thanks! [She's still ecstatic, though.]
That would be helpful.... it would keep the Malnosso from seeing too much of them... making it a little safer to cast them... [You've probably already thought of that Hermione, but she's just thinking out loud right now...]
[Action]
Exactly. [She gives an approving nod.] I'd love if Kingsley could show up. Then I could ask him if that was what he did at Bill and Fleur's wedding.
All right. The only thing left is to name your Patronus. Do you have any ideas?
[Action]
[And right now? Cho has no idea what you're talking about... So she'll just nod her head slowly.]
Ah.... no.... I'm afraid I don't... [a little sheepish about that]
[Action]
Hmm. There's a fairytale the Muggles like to use about a swan princess named Odette. I think it would be a fitting name.
[Action]
Oh, that's a beautiful name! [she glances over at her Patronus, who seems equally pleased with it] And she seems to like it as well...
Odette it is, then... And.... what did you name yours again?
[Action]
I'm glad you both like it. Mine is named Terri, short for Lux Aeterna.
[Here, she brings Terri out to play.]
[Action]
[Of course yours would be something smart like that, Hermione. It's cute, though... Cho can't help but smile at the explanation, and then when the Otter comes out]
It definitely suits you both...
[Action]
Thank you. I think the names work very nicely for the Patronuses.
[Terri's just going to watch you, Odette. She's used to Padfoot and he's veeeryy playful. She has not idea what you're going to do.]
[Action]
[Odette's going to watch you right back. She's.... not entirely too sure what you want from her. Maybe if she flies around you a little... She'll try that, but she's not nearly as playful as Padfoot...]
[Action]
[Whoa.. what... you fly o-o Terri's watching you still, though she tilts her head at Odette, as though to ask what she's doing.]
[Action]
[Odette's not sure what she's doing... She thought she was playing, but apparently not... She's still figuring out how a swan can play with an otter anyways...]
[Action]
[Terri's just content to not play, thanks. She's had enough of being pawed at by Padfoot. Still, she'll move a little closer and blink at you. It's kind of a friendship thing... kind of?]
Re: [Action]
[Oh thank goodness. Odette will come down from her flying around, then, and just sit and blink back. She's glad she's not expected to play...]
[Action]
[Terri looks relieved, too. She lies down on the floor now and it's almost as though she's looking for intelligent conversation.]
