[This part is muttered, as though she didn't really want it to be broadcast.] So... who's still missing a wand? I don't recognise this one.

I'm going to be wandering around the park today. Does anyone want to join me? It sounds like just the relaxation we all could use.

[It's been about a day since she found it but she hasn't told anyone about it yet. Currently, she's wandering the park with it, though it's tucked away in her handbag, wrapped up of course. She's not going to risk breaking a magical item like that. Feel free to stop her outside a ride or something. You might be able to convince her to go inside. She does, however, look a bit preoccupied.]

[She's just too... worried and confused... that's all.] I'll be right here.

[He's worried about the whole thing, but he'll never admit it. Instead, he'll just make his way to the amusement park as fast as he can, maybe about fifteen minutes later getting there. He recomposes himself first before going off to find Hermione, spotting here exactly where she said she'd be.] Granger.

[She's standing there, looking worried, very much like there's a heck of a lot on her mind and she barely glances up when he arrives.] Malfoy...

[He's fidgeting in his place, shifting his weight and tugging on his left sleeve.] ...where is it?

[She hesitates before reaching into the handbag and pulling out a thin box.] Here.

[Another pause and then she opens it, takes out the wand, and hands it to him.] I can't be sure of the core yet, but... everything other variable matches.

[He takes the wand from her very carefully, gently twirling it in his fingers and frowning a bit.] Fantastic. [He pauses then, pulling out the bag of tokens he carried in his pocket and setting them on the ground. He waves the wand with a quick flick of the wrist, aiming to do a levitation spell, but the bag doesn't float very high.] It looks like his...what are we supposed to do with it now?

[She sighs and rubs her face with a hand. She does NOT want to answer that, but she can't lie. A) she doesn't want to lie and B) he probably knows Legilimency and that would screw her over.]

...I have to give it back.

...[No, his grip didn't just tighten around the wand. You're imagining things.] Try again.

[Oh great, this can't be good. Be warned, Draco. She will duel you over this.]

Then what do you suggest?

Do you realize what giving him a wand will do, Granger? It's like handing over one of those metal things that go bang to somebody in St. Mungo's.

[She hasn't moved her hand from her face yet.]

...I'm aware. They're called guns. [She can't help offering information.]

Whatever. The point is it's dangerous, and while a little danger never hurt anybody, giving Tom Riddle a wand will.

But he doesn't even know about Horcruxes yet. It's... [There's no right word for this sort of thing... it's awkward at best.]

May I see the wand again?

But he knows other things. [He pauses there, looking at the wand again.]

...what are you going to do?

...[She really doesn't want to say what's on her mind right now regarding that because it sounds beyond ridiculous to her own ears.]

I'm going to put it back in its case and slide that back in my bag for safekeeping. That's all.

I'm not afraid to penetrate your mind, Hermione.

[That garners a wide-eyed look. Her hands are tight on her handbag, but she's ready to reach for her wand if she has to.] I'll fight you if you do. [She's serious about this, Draco.]

Why can't you just tell me what you're thinking of?

Because I was telling you the truth! That's all I'm going to do with it! [She's sincere and serious here and he can definitely tell. Her voice is shaking, but that's from worry and fear. This is bringing up really nasty memories after all.]

There's more to it than that! I know there is!

[She just stares at you worriedly for a moment.]

So what do you want me to say? That I have Voldemort's wand and I want to keep it from breaking? We don't know what a broken wand will do here?

[Her wand hand drops to her side. She's ready to grab her wand at any moment.]

Listen to me. Do you have any idea how stupid it would be to give him his wand?

Yes... yes I do. I...I don't want to... He's Tom Riddle here, not Lord Voldemort. [So. Many. Conflicting. Thoughts.]

Yeah, well Tom Riddle's a downright prick.

I can't deny that. [She doesn't want to admit what's on her mind, but there's fear on her face if he can see between her fingers.]

May I please replace the wand in its box now?
