loyalotter: (not the surprise I wanted!)

Voice; / Action;

[It's a couple of minutes before she actually says anything, but there are a few doodles on the page. When she does speak, she's very subdued.]

I guess this is the next experiment. It seems to be... a strange one anyway. I wonder who has my body?

...This is Hermione, for those who don't recognise my voice or my face. I don't look like I normally do.

[So the basic turn of events for Hermione: She wakes up rather groggy, eyes not quite as red or scratchy as she thought they'd be. Hello, something's off. She doesn't really notice her body change just yet as she makes her way out of the random room she was in. And a little later notices the body of her best friend... whom she had just fought with not a few days ago and who has been resolutely refusing to speak with her. Can't deal with seeing him yet. Hermione flees the house.

Currently, she (in the body of Raine Sage) is sitting by the lake, with her knees curled up to her chin. Those who know her, even if they've only spoken to her for a minute or less, can EASILY tell that something is very, VERY wrong here. Feel free to talk to her.]

You're at the lake? [This amuses him, and you can probably hear the grin in his voice. Also some rustling around as he heads out the door.] Which one?

[She's at a loss as to why this would be amusing.]

The southern-most one. It seemed to be the closest to the village.

Oh, of course. All right, I'll be there soon! [ To himself -] Aha, Raine at the lake. That's interesting.

[action]

[identity profile] loyalotter.livejournal.com 2009-09-28 02:37 am (UTC)(link)
[She's just going to tilt her head at the journal and wait.]

[And as promised, Genis arrives soon! Looking around for a familiar figure in an orange cloak... Ah, there you are big-sister-who-really-isn't! He walks over, and waves.]

Hey, over here!

[action]

[identity profile] loyalotter.livejournal.com 2009-09-30 02:52 am (UTC)(link)
[She glances up, offering a small smile as she spots him.] Hello... You do look a lot like your sister.

[action]

[identity profile] kendama-pro.livejournal.com 2009-09-30 04:05 am (UTC)(link)
A little, yeah. [He shrugs, and plops down on the ground next to her.]

So how's your first experiment been so far? -- This is your first one, right?

[action]

[identity profile] loyalotter.livejournal.com 2009-10-01 01:24 am (UTC)(link)
[She offers a small smile in return.]

Yes, it's my first. I'm doing all right so far, I think. [Aside from that whole 'arguing with my best friend' thing.]

[action]

[identity profile] kendama-pro.livejournal.com 2009-10-01 02:11 am (UTC)(link)
Sure didn't sound that way over the journals.

[action]

[identity profile] loyalotter.livejournal.com 2009-10-01 02:28 pm (UTC)(link)
[Ope, busted.]

I was a little surprised and worried then, that's all. But I'm all right now.

[action]

[identity profile] kendama-pro.livejournal.com 2009-10-01 03:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Uh-huh. Sure you are.

[He may not believe you, but he isn't going to pry, either. So he'll just change the subject!]

I've seen you around school a little. You seem to be settling into Luceti pretty okay.

[action]

[identity profile] loyalotter.livejournal.com 2009-10-02 12:33 pm (UTC)(link)
[She doesn't reply to that.]

School is the only normal thing here to me. It's something I can hang onto when things go wrong like this. [There's a double meaning in that.]

[action]

[identity profile] kendama-pro.livejournal.com 2009-10-02 12:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Even school isn't that normal, here. Have you seen some of our schoolmates?

Whatever's worrying you must be bad if you're relying on hanging onto school when there aren't even any classes because of the experiment. You sure you don't want to talk about it?

[action]

[identity profile] loyalotter.livejournal.com 2009-10-02 04:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, I have, but that's the beauty of a place like this. There's so much to learn about everyone around us because they're so different. [She doesn't expect you to understand. Not many people do.]

I love school at home. It's no different here. Anyone who knows me will tell you that. [She's not quite meeting his eyes, though.]

[action]

[identity profile] kendama-pro.livejournal.com 2009-10-03 04:18 pm (UTC)(link)
There's a ton of really weird people here, yeah. But you're right in that there's a lot you can learn from them, and the worlds they come from!

You like school too, huh? What's so wrong with that?

[action]

[identity profile] loyalotter.livejournal.com 2009-10-04 06:27 pm (UTC)(link)
I find it fascinating to talk of other traditions and magic and the like.

Nothing at all. My best friends, and most of the people I know from home, don't understand this, though.

[action]

[identity profile] kendama-pro.livejournal.com 2009-10-06 02:46 pm (UTC)(link)
So you're a magic-user and you don't think school is lame. [Someone's impressed.]

[action]

[identity profile] loyalotter.livejournal.com 2009-10-08 01:06 pm (UTC)(link)
[She nods and tilts her head at him for a moment.] Do you like learning, as well?

[action]

[identity profile] kendama-pro.livejournal.com 2009-10-08 02:17 pm (UTC)(link)
[He shrugs.] You can say that. I grew up with Raine, so I've pretty much been learning all my life, sorta.

[action]

[identity profile] loyalotter.livejournal.com 2009-10-08 02:22 pm (UTC)(link)
[Good point, there.] Well, I hope you haven't done what my best friends usually do. [She smirks at the memories anyway, despite being reminded of Harry.]

[action]

[identity profile] kendama-pro.livejournal.com 2009-10-08 02:25 pm (UTC)(link)
[You get a curiously raised eyebrow for that, Hermione.] Care to elaborate?

[action]

[identity profile] loyalotter.livejournal.com 2009-10-08 02:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Try to copy off my notes when we're assigned an essay for a subject they haven't read about all year.

[action]

[identity profile] kendama-pro.livejournal.com 2009-10-08 02:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Ugh, I hate it when that kind of thing happens. Can't people at least try to do their homework?

[action]

[identity profile] loyalotter.livejournal.com 2009-10-08 02:45 pm (UTC)(link)
They do when they have to. At least they haven't leeched absolutely everything from me. Last year, they were learning to do things themselves. It wasn't terrible. Not like the first two or three years.
