25th Gryffindor Note [Action/Voice]

[ Hermione's been thinking about the DA and what Xion talked to her about a few days ago. As far as she's concerned, it's high time the DA's started to get actively involved in Luceti. It's high time they became protectors and not just a secret society. So, for all you DA members (check the OOC post), she's looking out for you all to talk to you.

After a few minutes, as she hangs out on the porch of House 26, she opens up her journal for a voice post. ]

If you all had the chance to protect someone or a group of people, would you do it?

[A few minutes later, she adjusts the question:]

Rather, if you had the chance to protect someone using magic that wasn't your own, something you would have to work on often with another group of like-minded people, would you do it?

[She can be found either on the porch or in the Welcome Center for actiony things.]

[AHH answering-- communication-- polite, polite. Quiet.]

Y-Yes. Iria... Spada... Hermana... I would. [...but um] Why do you ask?

Of course. [ Because he figures it's the least he can do. ] I don't think I could forgive myself if I didn't at least try.

[identity profile] gandrism.livejournal.com 2011-01-11 04:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Is there a good reason not to?

[identity profile] loyalotter.livejournal.com 2011-01-11 04:50 pm (UTC)(link)
No, not as far as I'm concerned. Maybe I ought to have phrased the question differently.

If you had the chance to protect someone using magic that wasn't your own, would you do it?

I wondered how many hero-types Luceti has right now.

[ voice ]

[identity profile] loyalotter.livejournal.com 2011-01-11 04:52 pm (UTC)(link)
I feel the same way. It's nice to know there are others who feel the same.

[identity profile] gandrism.livejournal.com 2011-01-11 05:13 pm (UTC)(link)
*Well, not that she knows that she did this in a different route but...*

It depends on the situation but... yeah, I think I would.

[identity profile] knighted-lion.livejournal.com 2011-01-11 05:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes. To both of them.

[ Voice ]

[identity profile] apocalypsefall.livejournal.com 2011-01-11 06:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, absolutely yes to both. Why would you not if it was to protect someone?

[ Voice ]

[identity profile] loyalotter.livejournal.com 2011-01-11 06:09 pm (UTC)(link)
I suppose if it would endanger someone else, but even then, I'd likely try to save both somehow.

[identity profile] loyalotter.livejournal.com 2011-01-11 06:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Depends on what situation?

[voice-locked]

[identity profile] loyalotter.livejournal.com 2011-01-11 06:11 pm (UTC)(link)
And you'd agree to help when called on, perhaps to help protect people you didn't even know?

[Voice]

[identity profile] one-green-eye.livejournal.com 2011-01-11 06:11 pm (UTC)(link)
... I think a lot of people here have had to make that choice already.

[ Voice ]

[identity profile] apocalypsefall.livejournal.com 2011-01-11 06:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Do you know the chances of it hurting someone else?

[Voice]

[identity profile] loyalotter.livejournal.com 2011-01-11 06:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Perhaps. How would you say they have?

[She is gauging interest, okay.]

[ Voice ]

[identity profile] loyalotter.livejournal.com 2011-01-11 06:23 pm (UTC)(link)
This is all hypothetical. That's a good question anyway. Suppose you have two scenarios. One, if you try to protect someone who couldn't defend himself as well and was in immediate danger, there's a 95% chance someone else will get hurt from it, but you'd be able to help them out later. Or two, that chance to help the second person later didn't exist.

[Yes, she's aware of how difficult this question is. She's not sure she could make this decision without extenuating circumstances... and she still feels guilty about Tonks' father's death and Dean and Griphook getting caught when they could have done something to help.]

[ Voice ]

[identity profile] apocalypsefall.livejournal.com 2011-01-11 06:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Is the person who can't defend himself really that important? I mean, to hurt others. That's an awfully big thing to do for one person.

[He's honestly very curious about this. He thinks she's being ridiculous, though he's hiding that and being polite to her.]

[ Voice ]

[identity profile] loyalotter.livejournal.com 2011-01-11 06:34 pm (UTC)(link)
[Softly:] I suppose it would depend on the extenuating circumstances, wouldn't it?

[ Voice ]

[identity profile] apocalypsefall.livejournal.com 2011-01-11 06:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Definitely. If you're risking such things, this person has to very important, hmm? Otherwise some might take it as selfish that you want to hurt someone else for this person's safety.

Of course, I don't think that way and I doubt anybody else feels that way. But, well, humans. Always assuming.

[identity profile] gandrism.livejournal.com 2011-01-11 06:44 pm (UTC)(link)
At home I'm in a position of responsibility so that would weigh in on my decision.

[Voice]

[identity profile] wanderer-jack.livejournal.com 2011-01-11 06:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Without a moment's hesitation, yes, I would protect them. And though I cannot speak for experience in learning magic, I have trained with others to learn their own unique skills and techniques while teaching them how to defend themselves from attackers using the knowledge I have collected over years of training...and fighting.

'Hero-types'? [He doesn't think himself much of a hero-type, but.]

[voice-locked]

[identity profile] knighted-lion.livejournal.com 2011-01-11 07:07 pm (UTC)(link)

Yes.

[voice]

[identity profile] the-soother.livejournal.com 2011-01-11 07:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Of course!

[A moments pause as he contemplates the revised question.]

Oh. I can't use magic. [He sounds a bit hesitant.] At least not my own world's. I understand that Luceti has it's own kind though.

[... Why would you bother to ask a question and then rephrase it like that?]

Why do you wanna know?
